Phil Anselmo: “I Miss Dimebag More As Time Goes By”

Down frontman and former-Pantera frontman has spoken about his fallen former-bandmate Dimebag Darrell…

KNAC.COM: It’s amazing how the legacy, the legend of PANTERA continues to grow. I realize Dime’s death has something to do with that, but still…

Anselmo: We made our mark, we damn sure did. You can’t dispute that. PANTERA will live on and be remembered because we were a band that goddamn meant something to people. To a lot of people, we were their band, man. And Dime, he was taken away in his prime. A lot of people probably feel that PANTERA was taken away from them before all had been said and done, too. And maybe it was, but now we’ll never know. It doesn’t matter if it’s Kurt Cobain or Layne Staley or John Lennon or fuckin’ Elvis, when someone that means so much to people dies before their time, like Dime did, they don’t go away. Memories are a strong thing, man, and sometimes they make that bond grow stronger. No matter what’s been said, or more to the point, what was written — because that’s another story entirely, the way things got twisted around — I loved Dime, too, and I miss him. I miss him more as time goes on. I honestly do. So you can see what I’m saying.

KNAC.COM: For this autobiography you’re going to be doing, have you decided just what kind of story it’s going to tell, because your story could take any number of turns — rock and roll tell-all, cautionary tale or a chance to set the record straight, as it were?

Anselmo: I’ve thought things out, man, I don’t really wanna give it away too much. I would say it’s gonna be different to say the least. I’m not really one to praise all the elbow-rubbing and schmoozing and stuff like that that happened over the years, all the parties and stuff, people know that happened. And I’m also not gonna get into a pissing contest with my detractors, it’s not worth it and it’s not the story I’m trying to tell, that’s boring. When you say a cautionary tale, sure, I can buy that. Because I’ve definitely been through some shit, serious shit, man, and seen and experienced all kinds of shit and lived to tell. But there’s also funny stuff, sad stuff, angry stuff. You’re gonna have to just wait and see and read about it like everyone else (laughs).

Testament’s Chuck Billy On Metallica’s ‘Load’: “It Wasn’t The James That I Knew.”

We have an exclusive extract from ‘James Hetfield: The Wolf At Metallica’s Door’ by Mark Eglinton. Also read ex-Pantera/Down bassist Rex Brown’s views… ouch!

Testament’s Chuck Billy was another who was far from convinced by Load, particularly from a James Hetfield perspective, as he explains: “The whole band got to contribute on the Load record, and at that point I decided that James had to sing his own lyrics [for the best results]. When you sing your own lyrics, you sing them with more conviction and belief. When I heard that record it sounded to me like it wasn’t him… and it wasn’t the James that I knew. There was none of the clever lyrics and clever parts and it changed how I felt about their music.”

Rex Brown of Pantera was someone who actually benefitted from Metallica’s deviation, and he didn’t give Load a second thought. “All that make-up and shit? I really didn’t know what to think. I didn’t even care because by that time we were headlining arenas. It wasn’t the brand of shit we were doing, and we kind of took over that spot where they left off.”

As far as seeing James and the band around at the scene at that time, Brown is a little bemused about the circles Metallica were running in.“We only saw them spasmodically, but when we did, Lars would come in with fuckin’ John McEnroe! You know, it was crazy. I don’t think James was hanging out with all these artsy fuckin’ dudes though. He’s not that kind of guy.”

Atreyu recently premeired their latest music video for "Lonely" online. The band comments on it:

"Veteran Atreyu video director Sean Stiegemeier successfully captured our antics while we were on the Taste of Chaos tour in Tokyo and Osaka Japan this winter. It's easily the most fun we've ever had shooting a video and it most definitely comes across in the footage and it mixes well with Seans brilliant time lapses and cinematography."

Five For Fighting Plans Acoustic Slice Tour

On the heels of a nationwide spring headlining trek, Five for Fighting has unveiled a string of intimate acoustic shows throughout the South and parts of the Midwest set for next month.

Five for Fighting--the recording and performing name for singer/songwriter John Ondrasik--will hit the tour trail beginning with a May 2 performance in West Palm Beach. The nine-city outing includes a family-oriented concert May 23 in Evanston, IL, and a May 29 show featuring Ondrasik's full band. All dates are listed at right.

In October, Five for Fighting released its fifth studio set, "Slice." The album's lead single, "Chances," and the title track are currently streaming at Ondrasik's MySpace page.

"Every round, I try to write the best songs I can, and perhaps step out of the box a bit," Ondrasik said in a statement posted at his MySpacepage. "To me, records are about offering my worldview while providing sentiments to which people may attach themselves or escape into. 'Slice' is where I've come from, where I am, and a few scraps I've picked up in between. All in a slice of time."

"Slice" marks Ondrasik's first release since 2006's "Two Lights," which peaked at No. 8 on The Billboard 200.

Three Days Grace's Biography

Three Days Grace is a Canadian rock band, formed under the name Groundswell in Norwood, Ontario, Canada in 1992. After a breakup in 1995, the band reformed in 1997 under its current name and with a line-up consisting of guitarist and lead vocalist Adam Gontier, drummer and backing vocalist Neil Sanderson, and bassist Brad Walst. In 2003, Barry Stock was recruited as the band’s lead guitarist.

After signing to Jive Records, Three Days Grace released two studio albums, Three Days Grace in 2003 and One-X in 2006, both of which have been certified platinum and double platinum in the US and Canada, respectively. In 2007, the band was declared number one rock artist of the year by Billboard and was the number four artist in airplay in Canada that same year. The band’s third album, Life Starts Now, was released on September 22, 2009.

After being signed to Jive, the band moved to Long View Farms, a studio in Boston, to record their debut album.[3] The self-titled album was finished in Woodstock, New York and released on July 22, 2003.[1] It was met with generally favorable reviews. Dave Doray of IGN said of the album, “Mistakes? There’s not many.”[4] Allmusic reviewer Heather Phares said that on Three Days Grace, “the band’s focus and adherence to alt-metal’s formulas — coupled with tight songwriting and some unexpectedly pretty choruses — results in a strong tracks that are more memorable than the work of many of their peers”.[5] She did criticize the album for its simplicity, concluding, “Three Days Grace are definitely one of the most accessible alt-metal bands of the 2000s; they just need to add some more distinctiveness to their sound.”[5]

After acquiring lead guitarist Barry Stock in late 2003,[6] Three Days Grace toured continuously and extensively for almost two years in support of their major label debut.[1] The album peaked at number nine on the Canadian Albums Chart[7] and number 69 on the Billboard 200[8] and was certified platinum in the US by the RIAA in December 2004[9] and double platinum in Canada by the CRIA.[10]

One-X (2006 - 2008)

While touring in support of Three Days Grace, Gontier became depressed and addicted to drugs and alcohol. He went into rehab after the band finished touring, and while there, began writing material for the band’s second album.[11] After leaving rehab, he rejoined the band in a cottage in Ontario to finish writing material for the album. In a 2006 interview, Gontier said that the album’s material was more personal to him than the band’s previous release, being based on the despondence, drug abuse, and rehab that constituted the past two years of his life.[12][11] The album, titled One-X, was then released on June 13, 2006,[12] and was guitarist Barry Stock’s recorded debut.[1]

One-X was met with generally favorable reviews. The Toronto Star complimented the album with a review title of “One CD worth buying…” and focused on its lyrics, saying, “The lyrics really speak out to you, especially if you’re going through a tough time in your life.”[14] Allmusic reviewer Corey Apar praised the music, saying it “remains catchy despite its lyrical darkness”.[15] The album did receive some negative criticism. Apar pointed out that Three Days Grace is “hardly innovative” in their approach to writing music and that “further distinctive qualities” would help the band separate itself “from their alt-metal peers”.[15]

One-X peaked at number two on the Canadian album chart[7] and at number five on the Billboard 200,[1] selling 78,000 copies in the US in its first week of release.[16] Its first single, “Animal I Have Become”, was Three Days Grace’s most successful, becoming 2006’s most played rock song in Canada,[14] and the album helped propel Three Days Grace to become the number one rock artist in airplay in the US and Canada in 2007, with Billboard ranking them as the number one rock artist of the year in 2007.[17] One-X was certified platinum by the RIAA in the US on August 30, 2007,[9] and double platinum by the CRIA in Canada in July 2007.[17][18] Three Days Grace toured the US and Canada throughout the second half of 2006 and all of 2007 in support of One-X.[19] In early 2008, they toured alongside Seether and Breaking Benjamin across the US[20][21]

Life Starts Now (since 2009)

From March to August 2009, Three Days Grace recorded their third album at studios in Vancouver, British Columbia, and Los Angeles, with producer Howard Benson, who had worked with them on their previous releases.[22][17] The album, titled Life Starts Now, was released on September 22, 2009. The first single from the album, “Break”, was released on September 1, 2009.[17]

Three Days Grace have planned a tour of the US and Canada encompassing the latter part of 2009 and supporting Life Starts Now.[22]

Musical style and influences

Three Days Grace’s musical style has generally been described by critics as alternative metal[5][11] and hard rock[23][24] throughout the band’s career. Heather Phares of Allmusic, in a review of the band’s debut album, compared them to rock bands Chevelle and Helmet.[5] Dave Doray of IGN described Three Days Grace as “heavy and catchy, with chewy chunks of assurance and fury thrown in for added measure.”[4] Allmusic’s Corey Apar said One-X brings an “accessible alt-metal attack of blunt lyrics and crunching rhythms” that retains the melodic sound of its predecessor “despite its lyrical darkness”.[15]

The band has listed numerous influences in their music. Gontier has mentioned such bands as Sunny Day Real Estate, Kyuss, Nine Inch Nails, and Tool as influences for the band’s music.[25] According to Gontier, the lyrics for Three Days Grace songs have mostly been influenced by the Seattle music scene. He summarized about the band’s influences in an interview, “Musically there’s a lot of different influences, but lyrically it’s hard to have different influences because you just write.”[26]

Dave Mustaine Finishes Autobiography "Mustaine: A Heavy Metal Memoir"

Megadeth's Dave Mustaine has checked in with the following update about finishing his new book:

"Droogies! Wow! What a week! I have been running and gunning since we got back from this tour. From the tour bus to the studio to my house, and add in two funerals, several Doctors' appointments, a trip to the Dentist, therapist, and a priest and that was my first week back.

"Of course there is all of the work that we are doing here at Megadeth.com, with the Megadeth Fan Club, Megadeth Radio, TheLiveLine.com, the Studio and Mustaine Music Academy, my new book, 'MUSTAINE: A heavy Metal Memoir,' and anything else I can sink my teeth in to, just in case I get bored in-between tours. But you know all of that. So, I want to tell you that we are getting ready to leave for our most expansive and longest ever Megadeth Tour in South and Central America.

"I am still deciding if we are going to have meet and greets down there because, as you can prolly guess, not everyone in the MFC is a fan, and LA may have pretty much sealed it for everyone else. I mean I know that the M&G attendees read the instructions that say ONLY ONE THING, and sadly most of them completely disregard them, ultimately ruining it for us all. Then there is the getting pawed at (which I hate!), which can only be made up for with the good humor upon hearing their excuses why they should be different from all of you Droogs with honor - who can read. What would you do?

"Anyway, Megadeth Radio is progressing nicely. I have been getting rid of a lot of the songs that have somehow found there way onto the station. I am also adding new music each week, as well as answering emails now. Just remember to keep it about the station or I won't be able to answer ya.

"TheLiveLine.com is starting to really pick up speed and this will be a good way to keep track of us in South and Central America. If you are in the fan club and are a TLL member, you can use TLL to notify you of any MFC information. I have the great pleasure of telling you that we will be making a pretty important announcement soon regarding TLL/MFClub, including but not limited to announcing some new and tremendous talent, as well as some new features, and the higly anticipated announcement of the winner of 'THE BIG FOUR - GETAWAY.'

"My book is finally finished and has cleared all of the attorneys. We have a solid release date and I am going to be booking a small book signing tour around the states, and that is all I have for now."

Black Sabbath Members Geezer Butler And Bill Ward Remember Type O Negative Frontman Peter Steele

Original Black Sabbath members Terry "Geezer" Butler (bass) and drummer Bill Ward have each posted a message online, which pays tribute to Type O Negative frontman Peter Steele, who tragically passed away last wednesday from a suspected heart failure. The messages read as follows:

Geezer Butler: "I was so saddened to hear of Pete Steele passing away. He truly was one of the nicest blokes I’ve ever met. He came to the first G//Z/R gig, in New York, showing his support for us. I last saw him in Copenhagen, on the Heaven & Hell tour, where he interviewed me for a bassist to bassist piece. We had lots of fun talking together. I always maintained that the best Sabbath cover was Type O’s version of 'Black Sabbath' on the Nativity In Black album. I always looked forward to hearing what he’d come out with- he was always surprising, musically, and such a very special person. One of the truly great ones has now left the stage. R.I. P. Pete- Bog Blast yea."

Bill Ward: "The flamboyant ambassador of metal’s substratum is dead. I am diverted from my next indicated thing to do. I am compelled to pause and digress and re-listen to one of my all-time favourite bands, Type O Negative. I fall into memorable moments, to enhance my first discoveries of Peter Steele.

"I don’t want to believe he’s died. I’ve felt in shock since the early morning sad news of today arrived. Peter Steele – a brilliant musician, songwriter, singer has died. His death is a tragedy and heartbreaking. His passing is an enormous loss to the Metal community and to music period.

"In music, he challenged life itself in a poetic, prophetic, charismatic and extraordinarily insightful way. A world observer, a teller of tales, a renaissance man, a man from the future, a powerful force in today’s maladies and life challenges.

"This man will not be forgotten. I raise my goblet of water and praise him. I thank him, and I burn candles and desire incense aromas to fill our house, now illuminated in his honour. Candles burning outside flicker, and the sea crashes onto the shore. We are still. We are in memory.

"Peter, you will be celebrated forever."

Parkway Drive Promise Their Heaviest Album Yet

Aussie face-melters also promise special guests aplenty on the follow-up to their monumental, ‘Horizons’.

Parkway Drive have revealed that Bad Religion guitarist and Epitaph records founder Brett Gurewitz will feature on their forthcoming album. The album is currently being recorded by QOTSA and Tool producer, Joe Baressi.

A full update has been posted by the band on their MySpace which reads: “So we spent half the first day allocated for guitars playing through nearly every amp you could think of. Some sounded terrible, others OK, but a few sounded ridiculously good. After agreeing on the perfect combination of heads and cabs (good luck figuring it out) and finding the best sounding guitars we got to work!

Rather than sitting there looking at a computer screen and punching in every riff or note until it was 100% noise free precision, we’d be told to just have fun with it, feel it and play it the way we normally would. Then we’d go through and tighten it up but not compromise the ‘real’ and ‘natural’ sound of our guitar playing. The guitar tones we’ve got on this record are fucking huge. We’re so stoked with it and can’t wait to hear the final product.

“Next was bass and since Jia wasn’t with us in the studio Jeff and I had alot of fun writing parts with Joe’s input and laying down some bong bong noises. This is the first time we’ve really picked apart what the bass is actually doing and it seems to be adding a whole new dimension to our songs. The breakdowns are so much heavier, fast parts more defined and the melodies are sounding as catchy as hell! Who would have thought bass was actually an instrument?

“Winston’s time to shine. First song, one take, 15 minutes… next! We tried to listen back and go through shit but it was fucking perfect and heavy as hell so we just had to leave it. The good thing about recording guitars, bass and vocals all in one day (another new thing for us) is you really get to hear everything come together alot quicker. Everyday a new song or two is pretty much finished and we get so stoked on it and our spirits stay so high. We get home buzzing.

“There’s a couple of interesting guest appearances on this record. Our label owner and Bad Religion legend Brett Gurewitz came in to the studio today and added a nice twist to one of our songs. Don’t worry, this is still the heaviest PWD record we’ve ever written.

So we’re about halfway through the rhythm guitars, bass and vocals at this stage. Here’s some photos to keep you guys happy and keep checking back for more updates and a video preview of our time in the studio. You may even hear some new music in there…”

A Day to Remember's Biography

A Day to Remember is a band that combines hardcore and pop punk from Ocala, Florida, United States[/placeformed] formed in 2003. Their music generally consists of growled verses, clean pop-punk style choruses and breakdowns.

Early years (2003-2006)
After all playing in different bands in the Ocala music scene, singer Jeremy McKinnon, guitarists Neil Westfall and Tom Denney, bassist Joshua Woodard, and drummer Bobby Scruggs came together in 2003. Soon after, the band embarked on a “DIY” tour, playing well over 200 shows, making a name for themselves. They were signed to Indianola Records, from which they recorded their first full length, titled And Their Name Was Treason in May 2005. The album sold 8,000 copies on word of mouth alone, but the band felt that bigger and better things were to come. “A friend of mine said he had the AIM screenname of someone at Victory Records,” Woodard said. “I didn’t believe him, but I still started communicating with the guy. We IM’ed back and forth for about six months, and it happened that we were playing with the band On The Last Day in a town outside of Chicago—and this guy was going to be there filming it. It was our first time we ever played in Illinois, yet the 50-60 kids there were singing along to our tunes like they’d been fans all their lives.

It was our first time we ever played in Illinois, yet the 50-60 kids there were singing along to our tunes like they’d been fans all their lives.

Victory Records (2007-present)
Soon after signing with Victory, the band with their new drummer Alex Shellnutt went into Zing Studios to record their second full length. The album, titled For Those Who Have Heart was released in January 2007 on Victory Records and peaked at #17 on Billboard’s Top Heatseekers chart and #43 on the Top Independent Albums chart. On September 24, 2007, they put a cover of Kelly Clarkson’s hit single, “Since U Been Gone” on their MySpace. This was later featured on the re-release of For Those Who Have Heart, released in February 2008.

A Day to Remember toured the United Kingdom for the first time ever in January 2008, and were later nominated for “Best International Newcomer” at the 2008 Kerrang! Awards,[2] but lost to Black Tide.[3] Afterwards, the band had a lengthy tour opening for Silverstein along with The Devil Wears Prada, and Protest the Hero (who dropped off the tour and were replaced by A Static Lullaby). They then played The Bamboozle Left on April 6 at the Verizon Amphitheater in Irvine, California, one of the two days at the 2008 Bamboozle Festival in East Rutherford, New Jersey on May 3 and 4, as well as the Download Festival in June, and the 2008 Vans Warped Tour. Before playing the Download Festival, they toured the UK with The Devil Wears Prada and Alesana on the Road To Download Tour. In mid 2008, the band played all the U.S. dates of the “Easycore Tour” along with New Found Glory, Four Year Strong, Crime in Stereo and International Superheroes of Hardcore.

A remixed and remastered version of their first album, And Their Name Was Treason, titled Old Record, was released on October 28, 2008 through Victory Records. In December 2008, A Day to Remember toured Australia with Parkway Drive, Suicide Silence, The Acacia Strain and Confession. That month, the band also finished the recording their third studio album, Homesick. It was released on February 2, 2009 in Europe and February 3, 2009 in the United States and placed at #21 on Billboard’s Top 200 Listings and at #1 on Top Independent Albums. It was additionally featured in Rolling Stone’s “Top 40 Albums” that month, hitting number 21. Following two sold-out UK tours, A Day to Remember went on a European tour in February 2009, with the leg of the tour that took the band to Germany for the first time supported by For The Fallen Dreams and Kenai.

A Day to Remember was scheduled to tour the United States from March to May 2009 with The Devil Wears Prada, Sky Eats Airplane and Emarosa. Prior to the tour, Tom Denney broke his wrist; filling in for him is Kevin Skaff formerly of Four Letter Lie. They also toured the UK with For The Fallen Dreams and Azriel. They are also scheduled to play all dates of Warped Tour 2009, to play at Download Festival 2009, to tour Asia, Australia and New Zealand in August and September, and support Bring Me The Horizon on their October 2009 tour of the United Kingdom along with August Burns Red. The band also contributed a track to Punk Goes Pop 2 record from Fearless Records, covering The Fray’s Over My Head (Cable Car).

On June 2, 2009, the band announced that Tom Denney had left the band. The band stated that Denney left because he wants to focus on his marriage, a family, and his recording studio. Tom has been noted for recording such bands as The Starlight Getaway, Dang were on fire, as well as a number of solo acts. However, he will remain a part of the writing process. His official replacement is Kevin Skaff, formerly of Four Letter Lie.

Travis Barker, DJ AM Jet Crash Caused By Under-Inflated Tires

An investigation into the South Carolina jet crash that killed four people and seriously injured Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein has found that under-inflated tires were to blame for the September 2008 accident. According to the National Transportation Safety Board, while the jet traveled at over 150 mph on the runway, all four of its tires exploded within seconds of each other, hurling debris into the hydraulic system and causing the plane’s brakes to fail when pilots attempted to abort the takeoff.

As reported , a cockpit recording revealed that the pilots thought a tire blew out as they attempted to take off. Barker’s assistant Chris Baker and security guard Charles Still, as well as the two pilots, were killed in the crash when the private plane overran the runway, plowed through a fence and spilled out onto the highway, engulfed in flames.

Barker’s assistant Chris Baker and security guard Charles Still, as well as the two pilots, were killed in the crash when the private plane overran the runway, plowed through a fence and spilled out onto the highway, engulfed in flames. Both Barker and Goldstein managed to escape the crash with serious burns. However, DJ AM’s need for prescription medicine during his recovery is considered to be the catalyst that led Goldstein, who had been sober for over a decade after battling addiction, to begin using drugs again, leading to fatal overdose last year.

The NTSB also cited damages to the plane’s thrust reversers and the pilot’s relative inexperience in that aircraft as contributing factors. However, it was lack of maintenance on the tires that caused them to explode: The NTSB found that the charter company hadn’t checked the tires’ pressure in three weeks, and considering the tires lost two percent of their pressure a day, they’d need to be replaced after eight days. Barker and the families of Baker and Still have settled lawsuits with several companies involved in the crash, while the family of DJ AM have filed a wrongful death suit in the case, blaming the jet crash the cause of Goldstein’s overdose 11 months later.

The band discusses some of the songs on the new album below:

"THE OMEN - We got the idea for the song after people were asking us in interviews several times if we really think that you can still save the world. This kind of ignorance is upsetting us every time. There are many, many people whose world has long ended. They live in a world of war, hunger, misery and exploitation – and someone sitting in our backstage in our nice and cosy First World has the guts to ask a question like this. This drastically shows how people ignore that other people are suffering and dying."

"COMBAT - is about child soldiers."

"I WAS, I AM, I SHALL BE - deals with the murders of Liebknecht and Luxemburg."

"BURIED IN FORGOTTEN GROUNDS - The title relates to 'The Weapon They Fear.' It is about how Augusto Pinochet was protected by old networks and that the role of the CIA during the putsch in Chile and other countries in South and Middle America is still unclear. To this day ten thousands of families have no idea where their relatives were deported to."

We have a lot of new ideas and every year we talk about what we want the album to be and we are still in the stages of finding where I think it’s going to be and it’s starting to shape up right now. We just have tons of material written already and after this tour, [we'll] take a small break and then we’re hitting the warehouse where we rehearse and write the music and we’re going to start demoing and hopefully we’ll get it started by the summer and finished by the fall.”

Sepultura Announced Classic Line Up For World Tour

Brazilian thrash metal legends Sepultura have confirmed the dreams of many of their fans across the globe today, when they announced that the "classic" lineup of the band, vocalist/guitarist Max Cavalera, drummer Igor Cavalera, bassist Paulo Xisto Jr. and guitarist Andreas Kisser, will be reuniting later this year for a world tour.

"It seemed like the right time to do it really," says Igor Cavalera, "Me and Max had been planning the new Cavalera Conspiracy record for a while and we were discussing the possibility of guests on the album.

I mentioned that Paulo might be interested and after a quick call, we were happy to hear that he was really enthusiastic about appearing on the record. Of course, when he flew out to Arizona to meet me and Max and hear the song, we just had to jam some of the old Sepultura stuff. We've become close friends once again and we got talking about how all our bands are doing nowadays, with Sepultura being the main topic of conversation. After a while we decided to meet with Andreas and see if he might be interested in doing something with me and Max too. It's took some time to talk him into it because he was so proud, and rightly so, of the new Sepultura album, but eventually he decided that since fans of the band had not stopped asking for a reunion of this lineup since the 90s, it would be a good idea to give the fans what they wanted."

However, the future of Sepultura could very well be in doubt once the tour is complete, as Andreas Kisser explains. "There won't be any new material. Where me and Paulo are musically is a very different place from where Max and Igor are and it would probably be best if we didn't try and write anything new in case we would be too stubborn to compromise our art. Fans want to hear the old stuff and that's what they're going to hear at these shows.

"I really, really hope that I can continue to work with Derrick (Green, Sepultura vocalist) and Jean (Dolabella, Sepultura drummer) in the future though, because they're both awesome musicians and fantastic people. I truley believe the work we've done with Derrick has been some of the best material in the history of the band. To throw that away over a nostalgia tour would be ridiculous. I don't want to be making the same mistake Anthrax did."

The tour dates have yet to be confirmed, though the band have announced that they are planning to kick off the tour in their hometown of Belo Horizonte.

The Devil Wears Prada Biography

The Devil Wears Prada is an American metalcore band formed in 2005 in Dayton, Ohio, United States. The band has amassed a large underground. Although the band’s inspiration for their name was from Lauren Weisberger’s novel, The Devil Wears Prada, lead-singer Mike Hranica states this in the band’s blog (www.myspace.com/tdwp):

“It’s the same concept as our lyrics, ‘emeralds hold no hope’, and many many others. What we believe it to mean is that possessions don’t matter at all and someday everyone will realize that this is true. When standing before God, He won’t care about your sweet Prada scarf or Gucci shoes or whatever. It’s a Christian reasoning for the name, we didn’t name it to attempt at being fashionable or whatever.”

During a recent interview with East Coast Romper, the band has claimed Underoath and Still Remains as their major influences.

Dave Mustaine Fires Bassist David Ellefson

It has only been a month since Megadeth was reunited with their former bassist: David “Junior” Ellefson. This reunion was vital to the success of the Rust in Peace Tour which featured Ellefson on the actual recording. Unfortunately, Ellefson’s return was short lived. Megadeth’s frontman Dave Mustaine issued the following statement on Megadeth.com:

Droogies! The end of the Rust in Peace tour is before us, and Megadeth is in a state of transition once again. I cannot believe the nerve Junior had throughout the tour to ask me for additional compensation on merchandise. Have you seen Junior after he left Megadeth to where he was now? I mean, he's technically the new guy again? It’s almost like he completely dismissed what I taught him. Have you seen the way he dressed in his side-projects F5, Hail and Angels of Babylon? I felt almost bad for him.

I mean, he's technically the new guy again? It’s almost like he completely dismissed what I taught him. Have you seen the way he dressed in his side-projects F5, Hail and Angels of Babylon? I felt almost bad for him. Of course the initial reasoning for bringing back Ellefson was obviously since I knew that guy… not many people know the other reason though. Jeff Young and his current band Hydrogyn was going to steal my bassist. I couldn't let that happen. Junior has too much talent to join a band with that prick I fired. Dave also is too good to play in a band where the former guitarist canceled tours because he loves heroine… I worried about his well being so naturally, I made a deal with him to come back home, where he belonged. Of course this was contingent on him being considered a new member. Junior expects me to give him shares of profits from touring? Now, I don’t hold grudges because I consider myself a Christian but no one gets a free ride to Megadeth. That is not how that goes. He kept on badgering me about being paid less than Christ Broderick was making. I just told him that he can wear the Angel Witch hand me down shirt of Lomenzo if he needed new clothes so badly. Yes, and he did wash after every show Lomenzo…. Junior has to realize that money does not grow on trees… What, he can just waltz in and make what I make, get real? He was getting paid, don’t worry, but he still has to pay at least 2 years of Rock School 101."
"After becoming incredibly moody and belligerent, Junior started lashing out at the other band members and me especially. You know the PA that went out in Baltimore? I have a strong hunch that Junior sabotaged it to get back at me over the argument we had over merch costs. Besides, this can have a secondary benefit, namely, that we are offering Lomenzo his former job back… After hearing that he recorded four base tracks already on Hydrogyn, I could not help but feel angry again. I felt compelled to have my former bassist back because I did not want Jeff Young to keep stealing my members!"

"Anyways, we thank David Ellefson for all of his services, and wish him good luck in his future endeavors."
