Paramore Profiles

Paramore is an American rock band that was formed in Franklin, Tennessee, United States in 2003. The band consists of Hayley Williams (lead vocals/keyboard), Josh Farro (lead guitar/backing vocals), Jeremy Davis (bass guitar), Taylor York (rhythm guitar), and Zac Farro (drums). The band have released three studio albums in total; All We Know Is Falling (2005), RIOT! (2007) and Brand New Eyes (2009).

In 2002, at the age of 13, vocalist Hayley Williams moved to Franklin, Tennessee, where she met brothers Josh and Zac Farro while attending private school. Prior to forming Paramore, Williams and bassist Jeremy Davis took part in a funk cover band called The Factory, while the Farro brothers had practiced together after school. Paramore was officially formed in 2003. The band’s first song written together was Conspiracy, which was later used on their debut album.

Paramore wrote two songs for the first movie in the Twilight series. The lead song from Twilight, Decode, was released by Paramore in mid-November in the US and mid-December in the UK. It peaked at #9 in Finland and #15 in New Zealand, their highest charting single there so far, #33 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #52 on the UK singles chart. The other song written for Twilight was called I Caught Myself.

Paramore’s third studio album, Brand New Eyes, was released on September 28th 2009. It has peaked at #1 in Austrailia, Ireland, New Zealand and the UK. It has also reached #2 in Brazil and the USA, making it their most successful album to date. It was so far been certified Gold in Austrailia, Brazil, Canada, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, the UK and the USA. The first single, titled Ignorance, was released on July 7th 2009 for digital download and on September 14th 2009 in the UK. It has peaked at #1 on the UK Rock Chart, #14 in the UK singles chart, #35 in Austrailia, #67 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #96 in Canada. Brick by Boring Brick was the second single from the album, released November 23rd, 2009, and peaked at #2 on the UK Rock chart, #28 on the US Billboard Rock Songs, #29 in New Zealand and #85 in Austrailia. The third single was release on April 19, 2010 and is titled The Only Exception.

Slipknot Won't Replace Paul Gray

Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison says the band will continue without tragic bassist Paul Gray, and won’t replace him with a new full-time member.

Instead band members will play bass on new studio recordings, and they’ll look at options for a touring musician when the time comes.

But frontman Corey Taylor, who plays Sonisphere this weekend, is less clear on the band’s future. Gray was found dead in a hotel room in May after overdosing on prescription drugs.

Jordison says: “There will be no other bass players besides Jim Root, Mick Thomson and me. Everyone plays guitar in the band so I think we’ll all play bass on the record.

We’re not going to have anyone come in. Live - we’ll deal with that when it comes along.”

But Taylor is less convinced about what happens next. He says: “We’re all talking. Everyone’s talking, and everything’s good - but we’ll see.”

Placebo Profiles

Placebo is a three-piece alternative rock band, formed in London, United Kingdom, when former Luxembourg schoolmates Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal - who never actually spoke to each other at the time - met by accident at South Kensington train station in 1994. During their ‘accidental’ meet, Molko invited Olsdal to one of his gigs, where Olsdal was impressed by Molko’s unique vocals. While briefly known as Ashtray Heart, the band soon settled on the name Placebo, after the drug that has no active ingredient but works because the patient believes it does.

Soon after forming, the band could not decide on a permanent drummer, with Steve Hewitt (drums) and Robert Schultzberg both alternating on the spot. While Hewitt was the preferred choice, he was bound by other musical commitments as drummer for London-based band Breed, leading to Schultzberg being the drummer when the band signed its contract with Caroline Records. As time went on, Molko and Schultzberg began to drift apart as friends, which eventually led to Molko and Olsdal persuading Hewitt to rejoin the band shortly after their debut album was released.

Kings of Leon Pigeon Poop Gig

The Postelles were one of the openers who braved through their entire set while being dive bombed with bird droppings.

Here is what we received: his past Friday evening in St. Louis, The Postelles played a now legendary show with Kings of Leon, which was cut short following an astonishing, and highly reported upon, series of events.

The Postelles would like to release the following statement regarding this show: "It was truly an honor to open up for the Kings of Leon on Friday night in St. Louis. Unfortunately, it was a shit-storm for everyone involved. Amongst other things, a bird fell from the rafters and died while our drummer was setting up (services to be held next week), very fine clothing was ruined throughout the entire night (the laundry bill was rough!), and our equipment was completely covered with...well, you get the point. On a positive note, our bassist John developed some really excellent/awkward dance moves while trying to avoid the falling onslaught from the flock in the sky. We look forward to coming back to St. Louis - hopefully indoors this time."

The Postelles Tour Dates
7/28 New York, NY - Bowery Ballroom
7/29 Richmond, VA - The National *

Linkin Park Play New Single In MOH Trailer

The new 'Medal of Honor' trailer reveals an updated series of the video game set during the 2001 Afghanistan War while Linkin Park's new song 'The Catalyst' soundtracks scenes lead by real-life Tier 1 Operator 'Cowboy,' who represents the summit of US Special Operations.

Featuring chomping piano melodies paired with drawn-out percussion, we are led through schematic scenes in efforts trump Taliban insurgents, while Chester Bennington wails, "Lift me up, Let me go." 'The Catalyst,' is Linkin Park's first single off their upcoming fourth studio album 'A Thousand Sons.' The single will hit radio airwaves Aug. 2, whereas the album is set to release Sept. 14.

"When we were talking with EA and being familiar with the 'Medal of Honor' title I think the song made a lot of sense," LP bassist David "Phoenix" Farrell tells USA Today. "The song itself has got some dark undertones and it's got a lot of energy in it. It kind of just fits with the subject matter."

Mike Hranica and Jeremy DePoyster Told About Their EP Tracks

Mike Hranica (vocals) and Jeremy DePoyster (rhythm guitar, clean vocals) of the Dayton, Ohio Christian metalcore band THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA interviewed At SONSHINE FESTIVAL. THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA will release a new EP, "Zombie", on August 24 via Ferret Music.

"The whole thing is just completely based upon zombies," explained Hranica.
"Last fall, I was on a real zombie kick, I read 'The Zombie Survival Guide' by Max Brooks, and I thought, 'What if we made a zombie song?' All it took was me just saying that to the band, and we had our hearts set on doing this EP."

The "Zombie" EP is an extremely heavy record that includes songs such as "Survivor" that follows the plight of a man who loses his beloved to the undead and ultimately, in surviving the zombie plague, spends his days warding off the brain-starved and loneliness. The story continues to unfold with the tracks "Outnumbered", "Escape", "Revive" and "Anatomy". Serious THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA fans will note that the "Zombie" EP songtitles are straight-ahead and serious, unlike the "joke" titles that the band's full-length CDs have been known to feature — "Reptar, King of the Ozone" from 2007's "Plagues", as an example.

"Zombie" EP track listing:

01. Escape
02. Anatomy
03. Outnumbered
04. Revive
05. Survivor

Maroon 5 Told About Their New Album "Hands All Over"

For their third album, Hands All Over, Maroon 5 feel like they have found their musical identity.

“I think on this record, I didn't have anything on my mind other than what we were doing musically, lead singer Adam Levine said during an interview with CNN. “That took precedence over who was inspiring us -- or what was influencing us -- on the first two records.”

“We learned the value of leaving L.A. to record. It was super productive. We worked seven days a week, 14-hour days,” said bassist Mickey Madden. “Mutt and the engineer -- they worked even longer hours than that. They are machines. It's mind-blowing.”

Unlike the 80’s vibe of the band’s last record, 2007’s It Won't Be Soon Before Long, Levine says this album won’t follow a particular sound.

“I don't think that we really focused on [a particular style],” said Levine. “It's a free country. If you don't like our music, it's fine. Or if you're disappointed with what we give you, that's fine, too. We tend to focus on people that like it. That's kind of more fun.”

The band just finished shooting a video for “Misery” the lead single off Hands All Over which is due in stores September 21st.

“I have this sick, sadistic love for making videos,” said Levine. “Usually people say they hate it. I actually really like it. I've always had a hankering to be an actor, so [I'm] seeing if I have what it takes.”

To preview material from the new album, the band is scheduled to play a live event for Fuse on July 27th. The event to be held at the Beacon Theatre in New York City but there will be no public sale of tickets for the event. Instead, seats will be available for a charity to be selected by Maroon 5 and families who are affiliated with The Garden of Dreams Foundation, a charity that works closely with all areas of Madison Square Garden to benefit kids in crisis in the tri-state area.

Caliban's Profiles

Caliban, a metalcore band, was formed in Germany in 1997 under the name Never Again. After 6 months of playing together, the band recorded their first two songs for a compilation, which was never released. The songs were sent to several record labels, and Lifeforce Records was the first to offer the band a record deal. The band’s first self-titled MCD came out in the summer of 1998. To promote the CD, Caliban played many shows all over Europe and a few support shows for bands like Morning Again, Earth Crisis, and Cro-Mags.

After their European tour, in 1999 Caliban entered the studio to record their first full-length CD, entitled A Small Boy and a Grey Heaven. The CD received favorable reviews in many big zines and many smaller hardcore and metal zines. The band was described as a mixture of Slayer, Poison the Well, and Hatebreed.

Vent came out in April 2001. Vent was released by Imperium Records and by Howling-Bull Records in Japan. Shortly after the release, Caliban was offered the opportunity to tour Japan to play the Beast-Feast 2001 in the Yokohama Arena, sharing stage with bands including Slayer, Pantera, Machine Head, Biohazard, and Morbid Angel. The Japan trip was followed by a US tour with Bloodjinn, which was interrupted by the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

In August 2002 Caliban recorded their third official release Shadow Hearts. This record was more melodic and harmonic than its predecessors. In 2004 the band got a record deal with Roadrunner Records and started to record their fourth album, The Opposite From Within, alongside famous producer Andy Sneap.

Shinedown's Announced Madness On Tour

For Shinedown front man Brent Smith, the band’s current Carnival Of Madness tour is much more than just a one off summer tour. Bringing together some of rock’s biggest bands today with 10 Years, Puddle of Mudd, Chevelle, and Sevendust joining Shinedown, Smith feels like this is the biggest tour of the summer.

“In my honest opinion, it’s the only tour that matters this summer, because we are pretty much going to annihilate any other tour that stands in our way,” Smith claimed. “We have spent a long time on this tour getting it designed, and we wanted to make sure this was the tour that people wanted to go and see.”
Smith also said that the concept for the tour has been in the works for some time.

Shinedown’s latest album, The Sound of Madness, was released during the summer of 2008 and has gone on to score several the hits including “Second Chance” and “If You Only Knew,” which fans can expect to hear on the tour along with some of Shinedown’s new material they have recently released for movie soundtracks in 2010.

“We are going to play ‘Her Name Is Alice’ and ‘Diamond Eyes,’” said Smith referring to the tracks the band recorded for the Alice In Wonderland and The Expendables sound tracks. “There is a possibility for one new [previously unreleased] song, but we don’t know just yet because we were kind of keeping it under wraps.”

The aforementioned song would presumably be a part of the band’s upcoming fourth album, which Smith says the band will enter into the studio in early 2011 to begin recording. Before then, the band is scheduled to play a number of festival dates throughout the fall, and do a short acoustic only tour in November.

The Carnival Of Madness tour started (7/16) in Jacksonville and runs through late August. Full dates are below:

Caleb & Nathan Will Keep Playing New Songs on Tour

The members of Kings of Leon would prefer they not play the new songs from their as-yet untitled and unscheduled fifth album on their current tour. But the group would not have it any other way.

"If we were to go out there and play a concert and not play new music, it would feel like we had our hands tied, and I think we would be bored with the show," frontman Caleb Followill told Billboard.com during a conference call to promote the band's summer tour. "We didn't want to go back out there and give 'em the 'Only By the Night' tour, part two. It's inspiring to be able to go out there and play new songs...Not only are you testing the songs out on the crowd, but we have that, 'Oh, s***!' moment when we're looking at each other -- 'Are they gonna like this? Are they gonna sit down because it's not 'Use Somebody?' "

Fortunately, he said, the reaction has been just the opposite.

"The crowd response has been unbelievable," he noted. "We've already had people that on certain new songs there'll be a [lyric], and right when I get to it every time a whole group of people sing it with me. That makes me feel really good." Drummer Nathan Followill concurred, adding that, "We're pretty pleased with the reaction we're getting. It's great to see the reaction from the kids that haven't heard the stuff before."

Kings of Leon has so far premiered four songs slated for the followup to 2008's platinum and Grammy Award-winning "Only By the Night," which have been identified with the working titles "Mary," "Immortals," "Radioactive" and "Southbound." Nathan Followill said the group has been careful to choose "the ones we have together the best and feel the most comfortable playing," but there's the possibility that -- with the band on the road until Sept. 23 in North America, plus a pair of V Festival performances Aug. 21-22 in the U.K.

Jimmy Eat World To Release Their New Album In September

Jimmy Eat World are the quiet stalwarts of the alternative world, the perpetual underdogs who have consistently put out great material. Having formed back in 1993 in Mesa, Arizona of all places, it seems as if the alt rockers were almost destined to forge a career where they skirted the musical radar. But maybe that’s a good thing, since it keeps them hungry and hard at work releasing new material. And to continue their workhorse pace, the band announced, via their Twitter account, that they had completed their seventh studio album, entitled Invented.

According to PunkNews.org, the album, their followup to 2007’s Chase This Light, will be in stores on September 28th on an as-yet-unannounced label. In fact, when their contract with Interscope expired in 2008, the band were even flirting with the idea of self-releasing material.

While details are scarce thus far, the band also revealed the first single would be a track called “My Best Theory”. Manning the boards on this effort is the returning Mark Trombino, who produced the band’s second and third albums (Static Prevails and Clarity) along with 2001’s Bleed American, which we named our 70th best album of the 2000s.

Chris Shiflett Goes Solo

Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett admits he was enjoying the band’s two year hiatus so much that he’s caused himself a problem with side project Chris Shiflett & The Dead Peasants.

“If I hadn’t been relaxing so much I’d have gotten our debut album (self-titled and just released) out a year ago, and given us a chance to tour,” he told Classic Rock. “As it is, I’ve just done a run of dates locally (California), but we start recording the new Foos album in September and that will probably take us through the aurtumn. There might be time for me to do some more gigs around the end of year. But then we’ll probably be into Foo Fighters touring schedule that’ll stretch into 2012.”

For Shiflett, this album is a chance to showcase his interest in Americana, rockabilly and rock ‘n’ roll in general.

“I can’t say that I grew up on this music, because I’m from California and it was Aerosmith and KISS for me. But then my older brother got me into the Rolling Stones and Elvis. From there, I discovered Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Willie Nelson, then the Replacements, X and Wilco.”

The original idea, says the guitarist, was to make this a solo album. But it’s now becoming a band.

“I just wanted to get a record made. But now I’ve got this bunch of really good musicians together for the live dates, and I’m really enjoying what we’re doing. So, I’ll try to keep them together for the next album.

“I did try this once before with a band called Jackson United, but my heavy schedule eventually meant that I had to give that one up. This time, I hope to keep it all together, get an album ready to go by the time the Foos’ touring cycle ends, and then really go out and tour.”

Shiflett deliberately tried to seer the recording process away from using modern techniques.

“I hate the way records sound these days – too much technology. To me that destroys music. Hearing the mistakes is part of what music is. We tried to maintain that philosophy throughout.”

His main ally in the studio (the Foos’ 606 complex in Los Angeles) was drummer John Lousteau.

“He was my sounding board. We’re pretty much on the same page musically, and we went in and worked everything out, before we got anyone else involved.”

And the band also have some songs left over from the album, including a cover of Sunset Of My Tears by 80s Scottish rockabilly band the Shakin’ Pyramids (it’s on their 1981 debut album Skin ‘Em Up).

Black Cards - The Newest Project Of Pete Wentz

Fall Out Boy bassist and lyricist Pete Wentz has announced his newest project, Black Cards, which makes his comments to MusicRadar last year, that FOB was going on "a hiatus," feel like something more than that.

After all, since that time, Fall Out Boy singer Patrick Stump has begun recording a solo album, while the band's guitarist Joe Trohman and drummer Andy Hurley have formed a heavy metal side project called Damned Things.

Wentz has laid low for the past six months, but now he's released snippets of two songs while explaining the inspiration behind his new, somewhat secretive, reggae-flavored group on the Black Cards website. "The takeover, the break is indeed over," Wentz writes.

"When FOB went on hiatus, I wasn't really sure what to do with myself. I know I wanted to keep traveling the world with my family," Wentz writes. "We had been to Jamaica recently. I spent a lot of time hanging around the beaches and I started to get inspired again by songs like [Culture's] Two Sevens Clash and [The Gladiators'] Warriors… I could imagine them having an everlasting imprint, like people would dance to this stuff forever. I could feel these songs really meant something. Not just in Jamaica but globally, crossing through culture and language.

"I know this won't be for everyone, but honestly it's a chance for me to try something different," Wentz adds of the poppy, vaguely dancehall-ish music he's posted..

For the project, Wentz teamed up with producer Sam Hollander, whom he worked with on Gym Class Heroes' As Cruel as School Children. The pair recruited a female vocalist, whose identity, for the time being, they're keeping to themselves: "I couldn't imagine trying to replace Patrick Stump." Wentz writes. "Combine all this with my nonsense and ideas. Stuff I could never write or never had a perspective to write from in FOB." Some have already speculated that the mystery singer is Wentz's wife, vocalist Ashlee Simpson.

The New Album Of Iron Maiden is more Progressive

IRON MAIDEN guitarist Janick Gers spoke with Scott Mervis from Post-gazette.com recently about a number of topics including the band's new album, The Final Frontier, which was recorded over six weeks in the Bahamas, site of some of the band's classic recordings between 1983 and 1986.

"We're in a progressive stage with the band now," the guitarist says. "We're taking it to extremes. The new album, I'm really proud of it, 'cause the one song we released isn't indicative of the rest of the album - there's so many different feels and ways of playing on the album. We go through some different attitudes and take you to different places. There's a lot of long thematic tunes on this album. And some very varied music."

"My whole attitude towards music is it has to have a melody," Gers adds. "Heavy music, I love it hard and I like that real powerful rock 'n' roll, but it has to have a melody, and if you lack melody, then you lose everything that it's about, and you play to a minority section of people. We play music that is very heavy but also has high and low points, and there are lots of melodies. We've got a great singer, an incredible singer, and we use him to his utmost. He sings his heart out every time we go out there."

Watch Iron Maiden The Final Frontier’s video.
The Final Frontier”, the new video from British heavy metal legends Iron Maiden, will make its online debut via the band’s official web site on Tuesday.

5 Great Guitar Outros

Some outros exude subtlety and ambiance, while others bite and sting like an angry hornet. Below are 5 of the very best.

“Hotel California” – The Eagles
Joe Walsh often gets credit, but actually it was Don Felder who came up with the main parts for the outro that powers this classic. “[I was] tinkering around with an acoustic 12-string when those ‘Hotel California’ chords just oozed out,” Felder once told Guitar World. “I added some electric guitars, [and] mixed down to mono, ping-ponging back and forth on a little four-track. I wound up with a cassette that had virtually the entire arrangement that appeared on the record, verbatim, with the exception of a few Joe Walsh licks on the end.” Felder’s Les Paul never sounded better.

“Free Bird” – Lynyrd Skynyrd
Allen Collins fashioned his lead on a Gibson Explorer for this sensational outro, while Gary Rossington handled rhythm duties on a Les Paul and added slide fills with an SG. The band’s record company tried to persuade Skynyrd not to include the song on their debut album, insisting the track was too long. Fortunately, the group held its ground. The extended live version that appears on the 1976 album, One More From the Road, sealed the song’s classic status.

“Moonage Daydream” – David Bowie
Mick Ronson’s muscular guitar work was the key ingredient in David Bowie’s music during Bowie’s “Ziggy”-era glory years, and his extended outro on “Moonage Daydream” constitutes one of glam rock’s definitive moments. Shaping the tone of his Les Paul Custom with a wah pedal, Ronson unleashed a series of thrilling slides and bends seemingly headed for astral plains. Think Jeff Beck in a spacesuit and you get an idea of Ronson’s finest solo on record.

“Stairway to Heaven” – Led Zeppelin
Sure, Robert Plant gets the last word on “Stairway,” but Jimmy Page’s dazzling solo – the most famous in contemporary music – nonetheless constitutes rock’s most exquisite outro. Melodic, economical, and fitted to the song like a hand-in-glove, Page’s playing still brings chills after thousands of listens. “I thought, ‘Okay, take a deep breath, and play,’” Page once told Rolling Stone. “I did three takes and chose one of them. They were all different. The solo sounds constructed - and it is, sort of, but purely of the moment. For me, a solo is something where you just fly, but within the context of the song."

“Can’t You Hear Me Knockin’” – The Rolling Stones
The Rolling Stones have never been known for extended outros, but the Latin-tinged coda that caps off this track shows that perhaps they should have done more. Speaking to Jazzed Magazine in 2007, Mick Taylor said Jagger and Richards loosened up a bit when he came on board, allowing him to stretch out instrumentally. “I think I became really aware of it when we were in the studio recording Sticky Fingers, and we went into the instrumental section at the end of 'Can't You Hear Me Knocking,’” Taylor said. “That was completely spontaneous. What you hear on the album is exactly what happened – we just kept playing.”

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus Have Left The Label

After releasing two albums with EMI, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus have left the label, and are now independent. The departure from EMI was something the band wanted for a long time according to lead singer Ronnie Winter, who said that the band was frustrated by the poor promotion of the band’s second album Lonely Road.

“I think some fans don’t even know that we released Lonely Road,” Winter told Alternative Addiction during an interview last week. “We’re kind of just adjusting to the freedom at this point. It’s kind of mind blowing, once you’ve been at a label for five years, you get stuck in the monotony and the cycle of how to do things.”

Winter was clear that the band had no intentions of signing a deal with another label.

“At this point we want to stay completely 100% independent for as long as possible.”

As for new music, the band has a new EP due out August 24th, entitled Hell Or High Water. The first single from the album, “Choke” is already streaming online.

“With this EP, it allows us to write, record, and release an album in one year which is almost unheard of on any major label,” explained Winter. “So we’re going to do that because a lot of our fans are ready for new music.”

Shadows Fall, Unearth members launching band

An as-of-yet untitled project featuring Matt Bachand and Jon Donais on guitars (Shadows Fall), Derek Kerswill on drums (Unearth/Seemless), and Jeff Fultz on bass (Seemless), has begun to take shape. The band has recorded a five song demo thus far, and are actively seeking a vocalist.

"We are looking for one crazy bastard with the energy, the drive, and the determination to take this thing to the next level," says Matt Bachand. Jon Donais adds, "The vocalist we seek should be influenced by a variety of melodically based bands anywhere from Alice In Chains, Shinedown, and Aerosmith, to Skid Row and Pantera." You must be serious about the position, and must be able to tour extensively. Demo submissions are currently being accepted. Submissions should include a bio and list of past experience, photo, audio and/or video performance, and any other information you would like the band to know.

Now, We'll tell you about our friend who called Mr. Amari. He is a fan of Avenged Sevenfold who called Sevenfolddism who had died several years ago. Actually he is the one with disabilities. But his spirit is very inspiring many people including us. "Give donations of money or goods to those who need it". "Do not give it to me because I'm still capable." That's the words that really inspired us.

Mr. Amari was born in 1963. When he was 8 years old, he had an accident which caused him to lose his left hand. So he had to suffer during her life. But he never gave up. He is a hard worker. He worked as laborer in the traditional market. Despite the shortcomings, he did not want to be pitied. He also wanted the community seems to be independent. Not rely on others. May you rest in peace Mr. Amari.

Sweet As revenge's Profile

Sweet As Revenge were formed in the late 2003. They’ve been through lots of formation changes since that day,
Their first single, broken lines and empty smiles, was released in august 2004. The single reached the first position in MTV Cutting Edge and lasted for 7 weeks. And later on, the single was re-recorded for the Anthems of Tomorrow v/a album which was released by dE records.

Sweet As Revenge now are more likely to be called as one of the best performing band. The energy delivered in every of their shows made the crowds feel the emotional atmosphere.
They are constantly wheeling on the edge of losing control, toeing the line between pure insanity and self-control.

Dinand in particular is manic, his voice often sounding like he was throwing every ounce of his soul into every single word. Occasionally his voice sounds so raw that you’ll find yourself hitting the sore throat medicine on his behalf.
The purity of Dinand’s intense delivery made any listener feel as though he really meant every single scream, cry and shout.

Febri often shows dynamic bass playing in every songs, which you can find in most swing and jazz bands, and with his hurtful scratchy vocal approach, he completed the text and make sure that the message delivered!

Powerful and aggressive rhythm guitar proved to be the back bone of their songs. Kisut treated the six-strings like a chainsaw, but you can feel the purity inside his swelling guitar bruises.
On the other side, Mamie’s guitar melody seems to fill the elegant side of the songs to make it more audible. They’ve made a perfect duo.

Nanda’s drumming is also riding that edge of complete disarray, offering her most frantic, kinetic playing on stage.
Having a rare formation as a girl-drumming band, Sweet As Revenge have managed to stand out!

Kings Of Leon preview new songs

Kings Of Leon treated a sold-out crowd at London's Hyde Park last night to a four-song teaser from its upcoming, untitled album.

With support coming from The Drums and The Black Keys, the Nashville-based rockers headlined the 60,000 capacity event. The working titles of their new songs included Mary (a stunner, we say, see video below), Southbound, Immortal and Radioactive.

"Since we saw you guys last we went and made a record," frontman Caleb Followill told the crowd. "That's what we put a lot of work into. Just yesterday some people at the record label got to hear a couple of songs from it. I don't know if they want us to play a bunch of new song, but I think 'fuck it' - were gonna do it!"

The group also played a cover of the Pixies' Where Is My Mind?, which some members of the audience took to be another of KOL's new songs.

"It's been one of the greatest experiences of my life," Followill told the crowd. "Thank you all very much. One of these days, when we're all fat and bald...or balder, and we're sitting in Tennessee telling all our kids about all the great things that happened to us, this is gonna be one of those."

Go King Of Leon!!

AVENGED SEVENFOLD Guitarist On Making New Album

Chris Harris at RollingStone.com recently caught up with AVENGED SEVENFOLD Zacky Vengeance to discuss the band's new album, Nightmare, and the death of drummer Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan in December 2009. An excerpt from the story is available below:

"We knew the music was incredible and we were just really excited... maybe too excited," Vengeance says, adding that the band was having an incredible year before Sullivan's death. "Talking about the future and everything and how this album was just going to take over — we learned a lesson real quick that everything can change in a second. The world has a funny way of working."

The band struggled with intense emotions after the Rev died, but Vengeance says he doesn't think there's anything any of the bandmates could have done to prevent Sullivan's sudden passing. "Jimmy was just a magical person," says Vengeance. "He was always the most eccentric, most exciting friend that we ever had. He was the kid in high school that all the other kids dressed up as for Halloween. He really only truly lived for his friends, his family, and all of our fans. As far as warning signs or anything like that, you can never see something like that coming. That guy wasn't meant to grow old. He didn't want responsibility. I don't think it could have been any other way, to be honest."

Avenged Sevenfold will release Nightmare on July 27th via Warner Bros. Records. A limited edition Book Of Nightmares will also be available.

An Interview With Jim Root

SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR guitarist Jim Root said an interview at the Sonisphere festival web site that a "healing process" needs to take place before SLIPKNOT decides how to move forward following the death in May of bassist Paul Gray. Root said, "I'm not sure what we are going to do. We haven't talked about anything we're going to do. We've got some things to think about so right now we are just going to not think about them . . . There's going to be a big healing process that needs to happen before we even think about whether or not SLIPKNOT will continue. And right now that's the furthest thing from our mind. Right now we are just grieving or trying to find time to grieve anyway for the fact that our bro's gone."

Root and SLIPKNOT singer Corey Taylor are on the road now with STONE SOUR, whose new album, "Audio Secrecy", arrives on September 7.

Root said that it will be "probably two years at least" before SLIPKNOT begins to think about its future, with STONE SOUR gearing up for 18 months of touring behind the new record.

The new disc will arrive just as STONE SOUR embarks on the inaugural Uproar Festival tour with AVENGED SEVENFOLD and DISTURBED. The trek kicks off on August 17 in Minneapolis and will hit 36 cities.

The 38-year-old Gray's body was found on May 24 by a maintenance worker in a suburban hotel room outside Des Moines, Iowa. A needle and pills were found near his body.

A medical examiner recently ruled that Gray died of an accidental overdose of morphine and a synthetic form of morphine called fentanyl. Gray also apparently suffered from "significant" heart disease.

Nirvana Profiles

Nirvana was a popular and highly influential American grunge band. The band formed in Aberdeen, Washington in 1987, and was part of the Seattle grunge scene of the late 80s. Other Seattle grunge bands such as Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains and Soundgarden also gained in popularity, and, as a result, alternative rock became a dominant genre on American and Canadian radio and music television during the early-to-mid ’90s.

Nirvana’s initial incarnation consisted of Kurt Cobain on guitar and vocals, bassist Krist Novoselic, and drummer Chad Channing. After a brief stint as a four-piece in 1989 with the addition of second guitarist Jason Everman, followed soon after by the replacement of Channing on drums in 1990, the band found the lineup that would form the core of the group when they added former Scream drummer Dave Grohl.

As Nirvana’s frontman, Cobain found himself referred to in the media as the “spokesman of a generation”, with Nirvana the “flagship band” of “Generation X”. Cobain was uncomfortable with the attention, and placed his focus on the band’s music, challenging the band’s audience with their much more abrasive third studio album In Utero, considered to be a conscious attempt to shed their audience. While Nirvana’s mainstream popularity waned in the months following its release, their core audience cherished the band’s dark interior, particularly after their 1993 performance on MTV Unplugged with the Meat Puppets, a band that Cobain had always idolised, performing with them the songs Oh, Me, Plateau and Lake Of Fire.

Steven Tyler’s return to Aerosmith and will make new album

Tyler left the band in acrimonious circumstances with Joe Perry claiming that Tyler’s unwillingness to write new material just one of the reasons for the split.

But with the band back on the road fronted by Tyler, on the Cocked, Locked And Ready To Rock Tour and playing better than ever, Perry says that a follow up to 2004’s Honkin’ On Bobo is now on the cards.

Perry tells Billboard.com: “Every night that we play, it's like the best Aerosmith has played in 40 years.

“It's been the best tour that I can remember in my life.

"We've been pulling out some of the old tricks that we used to do back in the '70s, only now it's a lot better because we're in a lot better shape. I mean, we're in the best shape we've ever been."

He adds: "We've been together for so long that my heart is never more than six inches away from Steven's. Even though we may not talk for a short amount of time or a long amount of time... I always have a feeling deep inside that we're always going to be together. This is it. And that's what makes Aerosmith last as long as it has."

Tyler himself feels that playing live “rekindles the fire for song writing” and that new material is “coming down the pike.”

Perry and Tyler have already started the process and the guitarist adds: "The bottom line is we haven't done our best record yet, and we feel like first of all we owe it to ourselves, and second of all we owe it to our fans."

Eyes Set To Kil - Broken Frames Video released

"Broken Frames", the new video from Eyes Set To Kill, is available for viewing below. (Note: Video stream may not be available to some non-U.S. residents.) The song is the title track of the band's third album, which was released on June 8 via BreakSilence Records.

Recorded at Wade Studios in Ocala, Florida with producer Andrew Wade, "Broken Frames" takes the sparkling melodic prowess that Eyes Set To Kill has become known for and shows the band stepping outside of its comfort zone to create the next chapter in their growing musical evolution.

Commented singer Alexia Rodriguez: "Andrew Wade is really the first producer that ever challenged us as a band and took us out of our comfort zone. He made us try things that we probably wouldn't have done in the past. Andrew had me try a lot of different things and he was the one that suggested I try singing an octave higher for this record, which really helped me try and find my voice as a vocalist."

"On our last record we were concentrating so hard on writing solid songs that we forgot to visualize how they would work in a live setting," added guitarist Greg Kerwin. "With this record we wanted to make sure that the material would make our fans go crazy when they see us live, but still be fun for us to play live."

"Broken Frames" track listing:

01. All You Ever Knew (3:10)
02. Broken Frames (2:53)
03. The Listening (3:33)
04. Ticking Bombs (3:34)
05. Play The Part (2:39)
06. Falling Fast (3:34)
07. Catch Your Breath (0:27)
08. Ryan (3:10)
09. Inside the Eye (3:23)
10. Two Letter Sins (3:01)
11. Escape (4:19)
12. Let Me In (4:18)

"'The Listening' captivates every ounce of faith I lost in God during the darkest times I felt like I could only count on hope," singer Alexia Rodriguez told Noisecreep about the personal nature of the song. "Sometimes, I get let down by something I prayed so hard for and it causes me to lose my strength and beliefs. Since I firmly believe that lot of people only pray when they need something that is hard to reach on their own, I thought writing 'The Listening' would be an interesting way to make people think about why they really believe in God and if they are faithful for the right reasons."

Breaking Benjamin Sidelined By Health Issues

Contrary to internet rumors, Breaking Benjamin are not breaking up. The band's mainman Benjamin Burnley took to the web to set the record straight with the following message:

Hey everyone, Benjamin here. I am officially letting everyone know that Breaking Benjamin has NOT broken up! This is just a false rumor that, through the miracle of modern technology, has unfortunately spread.

I am currently taking some time off from touring to further address some health issues that I have been dealing with for some years now which has been posted previously on the shallow bay website and expressed in many recent interviews. I am performing two solo acoustic shows in July but this in no way means that I have left, or am ever going to leave, Breaking Benjamin.

In closing I'd like to thank our incredible fans for their concern. The only thing that I ask, is for everyone to not believe any rumors you hear on the Internet especially when it does not come directly from the band. We hope that our fans know that we love them and are forever grateful of their continuing support.

Much love,
Benjamin Burnley
