Every man should be born again on the first day of January. Start with a fresh page. Take up one hole more in the buckle if necessary, or let down one, according to circumstances; but on the first of January let every man gird himself once more, with his face to the front, and take no interest in the things that were and are past." - By Henry Ward Beecher

we look upon the yearly wine
to see our substance in the lees.
Did tribe and purse most pleasing leave?
To look for clear and faithful sense,
that gives a bodied stance bouquet,
then see the vat at mirror's face
and find in it, the yearly pace." - By E. Marshall, Vintner Epilogue

Aerosmith's Steven Tyler Profile

Fear not, Aerosmith fans. New “American Idol” judge Steven Tyler is not giving up his day job. According to Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton, the 62-year-old singer believes he has the time and energy for both “Idol” and the band. Steven Victor Tallarico was born on March 26, 1948, better known as Steven Tyler, is an American singer, songwriter, harmonicist, and the frontman and lead singer of the Boston-based rock band Aerosmith, in which he also plays the harmonica, and occasional piano and percussion. He is well-known for his stage acrobatics. During his high-energy performances, he usually dresses in bright, colorful outfits with his trademark scarves hanging from his microphone stand.

In the early 1980s Tyler had a heavy drug and alcohol addiction. He completed drug rehabilitation in 1986 and maintained sobriety for over 20 years, aside from a painkiller addiction in the late 2000s, which he successfully received treatment for in 2009. After Aerosmith was resurrected in the late 1980s and early 1990s, Tyler became a household name. As a result, he has since embarked on several solo endeavors including guest appearances on other artists' music as well as film and TV roles (including as a judge on American Idol). And yet he has continued to record music and perform with Aerosmith after more than 40 years in the band. He recently was included among Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Singers. He was also ranked 3rd on Hit Parader's Top 100 Metal Vocalists of All Time. In 2001 he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Aerosmith, and he was the presenter when AC/DC was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2003.

In 2010 Steven Tyler rejoined Aerosmith and went on the Cocked, Locked, and Ready to Rock Tour. On September 16, 2010, it was reported that Tyler would have his first solo project. He wrote 'Love Lives,' which serves as a theme song for the Japanese sci-fi movie Space Battleship Yamato (2010 film). The song was based on the English translated script, as well as on some clips of the film itself. The single was released on November 24, a week before the movie was released. A preview of the single can be heard in the movie's trailers.

On September 22, 2010, Fox confirmed that Tyler joined American Idol as a member of the judging panel for the program's tenth season, alongside Randy Jackson and Jennifer Lopez. Like Springsteen did last year, Paul McCartney made a trip to the Kennedy Center in the first week of December 2k10, where he was honored for “enriching, inspiring, and elevating the cultural vibrancy of our nation and the world.” Oprah was of course there too. And much like how Springsteen was serenaded by a star-studded lineup of performers that included Eddie Vedder, Sir Macca also received the royal treatment. A reunited No Doubt, Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl and songstress Norah Jones, American Idol’s Steven Tyler (per the request of McCartney himself), and the equally legendary James Taylor and Mavis Staples all paid tribute to the music legend with renditions of his most noteworthy gems.

John Lennon Would Love Lady Gaga

In a recent, wide-ranging interview with Britain’s Daily Mail, Yoko Ono says Lennon would have embraced at least one current pop phenomenon – Lady Gaga. “I think she’s wonderful,” Ono said. “John would have loved her because she’s an artist, she’s fearless, and she pushes every limit, which we both always adored. She has played on John’s white piano, which I think is wonderful.”

Ono and Gaga performed together in October during concerts commemorating what would have been Lennon’s 70th birthday. Lady Gaga received some criticism for wearing a transparent stage costume at those shows, but Ono comes to her defense in the interview. “Lady Gaga has a very pretty bottom. She performed with me on stage wearing a see-through lace cat suit and people thought it was an insult because you could see her bottom. I’m the lady who did an exhibition of bottoms. How could hers offend me?”

Ono also said that if he were around, John Lennon would be an enthusiastic user of social media. “He’d love Facebook. He would love the way the world has changed. He’d love the Internet and Twitter. He’d be sending out pronouncements and messages and giving his opinion all the time on everything. He’d be 70 years old, but he’d want to know everything that was going on.” While in the Beatles, Lennon displayed an outspokenness that immersed the band in controversy and helped redefine the rules of acceptable behavior for rock stars. He famously remarked in 1965 that the Beatles were “more popular than Jesus” – a statement that was more an observation than a boast, but that resulted in the band’s records being burned and removed from radio station playlists in the U.S. Lennon criticized America’s involvement in Vietnam, and, as the Sixties progressed, he became an increasingly important symbol of the burgeoning counterculture.

Snow Totals - Breaking News

Many New Jersey residents were experiencing a sense of déjà vu from last winter after the first storm of winter 2010 left more than 20 inches on some areas. A dumping of up to 20 inches had been forecast for Philadelphia, where the Eagles-Vikings NFL game was postponed because of the snow, but by early evening meteorologists said the city would end up getting no more than a foot.

The Press of Atlantic City reported the storm dumped more than 19 inches of snow at Atlantic City International Airport, making this storm bigger than any of last year's blizzards — and the second-biggest snowfall total ever recorded, according to the National Climatic Data Center. South Jerseyans are finding cancellations, delays and parking restrictions in the wake of the storm, which dropped an estimated 6 to 12 inches of snow locally, according to the Courier Post. In Cherry Hill, residents were urged to stay off local roads "unless it is absolutely necessary, and Gloucester Township Mayor David Mayer said residents should avoid travel while plows are clearing roadways.

State Senate President Steve Sweeney, who is filling in as Acting Governor while Gov. Chris Christie is out of state, has issued a state of emergency for the entire state due to blizzard conditions this evening. According to the executive order issued by Sweeney, the storm is expected to produce from eight to 20 inches of snow with forecasts of significantly higher snowfall accumulations in some locations. High winds with gusts of 35 to 45 miles per hour, tidal and coastal flooding, blizzard conditions and snow drifts will all impede the flow of traffic through the state. In addition, the storm is expected to produce widespread power outages.

Sweeney has empowered the State Director of Emergency Management to activate any elements of the State Emergency Operations Plan that he deems necessary to safeguard the public. The State Police will assume total control of the state’s roadways and the State Director of Emergency Management has the power to evacuate any residents who are in areas that present a danger to their well-being. The order takes place immediately and will remain in effect until a state of emergency no longer exists. The snow may begin to disappear quickly. According to the National Weather Service, temperatures are expected to reach the upper 40s by the weekend.

Guns n' Roses Guitarist Discusses Solo Career

Ronald van de Baan of Metalkrant recently conducted an interview with GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.

Metalkrant: You keep the fans updated about your new album through Twitter and Facebook. Can you tell us more about the new upcoming solo album?

Thal: I'm not gonna do an album. It's a big investment of time, and I don't have time. It's the big ongoing battle in my life, finding time for everything and everyone. So I'm gonna take it a song at a time, and release each digitally. I'd rather keep releases at a steady simmer than wait for a big pot to boil every few years. Know what I mean? We have the technology to do it this way now, wanna give it a try...

Metalkrant: You come [across] as a very social guy. You always got time for fans and often play with them outside the hotel. Is it hard to keep being that way. Now that you are in the famous rock band GUNS N' ROSES?

Thal: Playing in GUNS N' ROSES, I have more of an opportunity to do things like this. It's been good. It always happens spontaneously. Fans outside a hotel, I'm walking in with a guitar, or they have one, we're talking for a while, next thing ya know we're all singin' and playin'. It's nice. It's why I'm here. On Earth, I mean.

Metalkrant: Being away from home for such a long time must be a hard thing to do. How do you keep up the good spirit and continue being on the road for that time?

Thal: My wife visits a lot; we get to see the world together, it's great. I think Skype keeps everyone sane, fathers getting to see their families. There's a lot of band and crew walking around with laptops in front of their faces, talking to it, everyone waving to each other through the screen as they walk by...

Metalkrant: Besides making good solo records, you also are one of the lead guitarists in GUNS N' ROSES. Is it hard to combine your solo-work with being in GUNS N' ROSES?

Thal: Yes. The more we tour the less time there is for everything else. The last thing I did was put out my own "Abnormal" album and acoustic "Barefoot" album in 2008 while GUNS N' ROSES' "Chinese Democracy" was in its final stages to be released. I spent most of 2009 living out of a hotel room in L.A., prepping with GN'R for this past year of touring. Took a break over that summer and wrote and recorded a batch of my own music, toured with Lita Ford for a few months, then got back to biz with GN'R, hit the road end of '09 and have been touring since. On breaks in between legs of the tour, I'd try to knock out whatever I could. My first album was re-released by the label that owned it and I transcribed and released a 200-page tab book of the album, I laid some guest solos, started laying vocals to the '09 songs I wrote ("Invisible" will be the first of them...), did a song for a "Rock Band"-style video game of rock versions of Chopin's music, mixed RETURN TO EARTH's new album, "Automata" (Metal Blade Records), mixed and mastered some other demos and albums, did work with some charities as well... Just a big race against the clock all the time. I'm getting' things done, but I definitely feel the constant impending "to-do" list hovering over my head at all times, and scramble to knock down the list every free chance I get....

Gorillaz will release 'The Fall' on their official site

Gorillaz have posted a video for a new song from their forthcoming Christmas Day album 'The Fall'. The track - 'Phoner To Arizona' - has surfaced ahead of the free download release for fan club members on December 25. Watch footage of the video below.

Frontman Damon Albarn recorded the album on his iPad over 32 days on the band's North American tour this Autumn. The band recently announced that they may never play live again with the current line-up after they recently completed their world tour.

Gorillaz will release 'The Fall' through their online advent calendar on their official site Gorillaz.com with a physical release set to follow in 2011.

Recorded during the band's most recent U.S. tour, the album was largely recording using an Apple iPad, with additional instruments. Mick Jones and Paul Simonon from The Clash, who were in the Gorillaz's touring band, are among additional musicians on the record, along with the legendary Bobby Womack. I think The Fall sounds pretty great on headphones. Have you listened? What's your take?

Josh Farro Slams Paramore's Hayley Williams

Ex-Paramore guitarist Josh Farro has slammed singer Hayley Williams in a blog. There was initially confusion about the authenticity of the blog, Joshnfarro.blogspot.com, with Paramore's UK spokesperson saying they thought it was a hoax when it was posted on Tuesday (December 21). However, it has since been verified as real by Josh Farro's wife at Jennalfarro.blogspot.com.

Josh Farro wrote that he felt compelled to go public as he "did not think Hayley's [Williams] version [of the reasons he and brother Zac left] told the whole story".

In the statement he alleged that Hayley Williams is the only member of Paramore who is signed to their record label. "It was suggested that we were hired guns and Hayley was the real artist," he wrote, "when in reality we were also part of the band. We've always been treated as less important than Hayley."

He went onto write that he believes Williams is being manipulated by her management, writes blasphemous lyrics and makes false statements about the band's unity.

Paramore's spokesperson told that the band will not be commenting on the accusations. Read the full blog at Joshnfarro.blogspot.com. Farro's depature, alongside his drummer brother Zac Farro, was announced on December 18. Source: Guardian.co.uk

Foo Fighters Debut New Songs

Foo Fighters played a secret show in Los Angeles on Tuesday night (Dec. 21), returning to one of singer Dave Grohl's favorite "Valley" haunts, rock club Paladino's. In advance of their last album, 2007's "Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace," Grohl and gang also used the Tarzana dive to introduce new music to a core group of diehard fans, family members and famous friends. Three years later, the scene was no different.

Among the famous faces in the crowd were actors Ryan Phillippe, Amanda Seyfried and Shane West who took in a set list which featured more than its share of Foos hits, including opener "Times Like These," "My Hero," "For All The Cows," "Generator," "The Pretender" and "Learn To Fly." The band also debuted several new songs, "Dear Rosemary," "White Limo," and "Back and Forth," the latter which may end up as the title of the their seventh album, Grohl told the crowd.

For one song, presumably called "I Should Have Known," Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic joined Foo Fighters on stage. According to previous reports, he also appears on the forthcoming album, playing accordion.

Kings of Leon Tour Buses Catch Fire

Tennessee rockers Kings of Leon have had to cancel a London show Tuesday after a tour bus fire at the O2 arena, venue owners AEG said. The arena in southeast London did not suffer any damage, but there was not sufficient time to rig it for the performance and a new date will be announced shortly, AEG said.

"Unfortunately, due to this morning's fire on board one of the tour buses at The O2, tonight's Kings of Leon concert will now be postponed," AEG said in a statement. Around 60 firefighters and 12 fire engines had to deal with what the London Fire Brigade described as "challenging conditions" as smoke billowed from the vicinity of the white-domed concert and events venue by the River Thames in southeast London, the Guardian newspaper reported. Ambulance staff treated six people for smoke inhalation, but none needed hospital treatment. Source: yahoo.com

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds Get Back Together?

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds Get Back Together? Nearly a week after announcing their separation, Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds were spotted having a very smiley dinner together at Blue Ribbon in New York Friday night.

So which gorgeous star is having dumper's remorse? Sorry, don't get ahead of yourselves for a reconciliation, because the answer to that would be neither.

Sources tell us there was "nothing more to it" than a dinner between friends. "Remember, their breakup wasn't dramatic, so it's not like it's weird for them to remain close," spills our insider, who is slightly Team Scarlett.

As we told you last Friday, the reason Ry and S finally threw in the towel is that they "were never together."

And that is not an exaggeration, people. "Both are very career driven, it just wasn't working out" emphasizes our insider who hinted that it may have been more on Reynolds' part.

"[Scarlett] needs someone who will make her a priority." Bottom line is that both of these babes have huge careers ahead of them. It's nearly impossible to have that and a totally functional marriage.

Why do you think so many of our Blind Vice's are couples? We think it's totally cool that Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson got out of their marriage before one of them ultimately did something very damaging to their relationship. Cool they can stay friends, dontchya think? Source: Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds Get Back Together?

Patrick Stump Steps Into the 'Spotlight'

Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump may have one of the best voices in pop-punk, but it never really seemed like he was "owning" his frontman status in FOB. Now, with the release of his solo album "Soul Punk" this winter, Stump is stepping into the "Spotlight" -- literally.

The first "Soul Punk" song he's introducing to the world is called "Spotlight," a video for which hit the 'Net yesterday. In the clip, Stump (impressively) performs the song one-man-band style, taking on keyboard, drum and vocal duties. If you thought his skills were under-rated, you'll be convinced after seeing this balancing act.

The final version of "Spotlight" can be voted on by fans via Stump's official website now, with two versions duking it out in a somewhat close battle. Speaking about "Soul Punk" in a recent interview with MTV News, Stump said, "The album should be out in February and as can be inferred from the long delay, it's changed dramatically from the album I alluded to a year ago."

Green Days's Future Live Album

While on tour with Green Day last summer, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong announced that the band were recording concerts to garner material for a future live album. A few months later, that record now has a name and a release date.

On March 15, Green Day will release a live album titled Awesome as [Expletive] in the U.K., according to a listing on Amazon.co.uk. The live record, which is listed as a two-disc set, will likely come out in the U.S. and other regions around the same time.

There's no word yet on a track list, although the band played the never-released "Cigarettes" after making the announcement back in August. Green Day have one previous live album to their credit. In 2006, they released Bullet in a Bible, recorded at the Milton Keynes Bowl in 2005, while on tour to promote American Idiot. Deluxe copies of that album also came with a DVD of the show. Mike Portnoy To Rejoin Dream Theater?

Avenged Sevenfold have explained why Mike Portnoy could not remain with the band into 2011 – and they say the drummer agrees with their sentiments. Last week the ex-Dream Theater man announced he’d been dismissed from the band he’s been standing in with since their sticksman, Jimmy ‘The Rev’ Sullivan, died last Christmas.

The move followed a series of interviews in which Portnoy had suggested there was the possibility of becoming a full-time part of A7X.

Now the band explain: “We’re not ready to add a permanent member – and we don’t know if we’ll ever be. If we do, it will be someone who’s not only a brilliant drummer but someone we’ve gotten to know well, and who the fans get to know and hopeful accept.

“Mike and the band agree it can’t be him. Why? Long before there was an Avenged Sevenfold there were members of this band who looked up to Mike.

“Jimmy learned a lot from watching Mike play. He’s also a brilliant writer and producer. But because of all that, the world would always see it as Avenged Sevenfold with Mike Portnoy.” A7X manager Larry Jacobson says confusion was caused by Portnoy’s discussion of a potential future, raised after he dramatically quit Dream Theater in September.

Jacobsen explains: “The plan had always been for Mike to play through 2010. Nothing changed, but it got confusing because Mike gave interviews suggesting he might tour with the band beyond 2010.

“There will be another drummer behind the kit for the Nightmare After Christmas tour in January and many other dates round the world in 2011 and beyond.”

Last week A7X frontman M Shadows suggested another reason behind Portnoy’s departure was the band’s distress over the way he dealt with his split with Dream Theater.

Meanwhile, Portnoy has revealed he tried to rejoin Dream Theater soon after he’d quit – but the band said no via their legal counsel.

The drummer says: “I reached out to the guys to try and make for the sake of having peace back in our lives. Plus I know how much it meant to a lot of the fans. Sadly, they declined my offer – well, actually their lawyer did. They didn’t even tell me themselves. Please stop asking me to go back to Dream Theater. The door is now shut.” Portnoy is now working on prog musicians Neil Morse’s upcoming album in Nashville. Source: www.rockaaa.com

Josh and Zac Farro leave Paramore

Guitarist Josh Farro and drummer Zac Farro have left Paramore. The three remaining band members, Hayley Williams, Jeremy Davis and Taylor York, made the announcement today (December 18) in a post on the band's official website, Paramore.net. They explained that the two brothers had announced they would be leaving some months ago.

"A couple of months ago, Josh and Zac let us know they would be leaving the band after our show in Orlando last Sunday [December 12, at the House Of Blues venue]," they wrote. "None of us were really shocked. For the last year it hasn't seemed as if they wanted to be around anymore."

They added: "We want Josh and Zac to do something that makes them happy and if that isn't here with us, then we support them finding happiness elsewhere."

They went on to explain that there was never any question of the band splitting despite losing two of its five members. "We never for a second thought about leaving any of this behind," they wrote. "We really hope that you can be encouraged by the fact that the three of us who are still here are ready to take on another chapter of our journey together."

They have not announced if the Farro brothers will be replaced. They are set to return to gigging action on a tour of south America in February and March 2011. Paramore recently talked about how close they were to splitting during the recording of their 2009 album 'Brand New Eyes'.

Who's Jessie Lunderby?

Jessie Lunderby was just one of a host of people who momentarily grabbed the spotlight in 2010 and dominated a news cycle or two while getting their 15 minutes of fame. Jessie Lunderby Made News in 2010 When She: Was fired from her job as a detention officer at an Arkansas jail for posing nude on Playboy.com. (She also made news for looking good doing it.)

The 21-year-old jailer was forced to hand over her handcuffs this summer when her bosses discovered she had posed nude as Playboy.com's "Cyber Girl of the Week" in June. The Washington County, Ark., sheriff -- who put Lunderby on administrative leave for more than two weeks before he determined which departmental rules she had violated -- eventually fired Lunderby and said the nude photos were distracting and would "generate much interest among the detainees in our public jail." By that time, though, Lunderby had become an Internet sensation, had gained a Hollywood agent and was fielding movie offers. "Their plan backfired," Lunderby told AOL News back in July. "At first, I was like, 'I'm going to sue the pants off them.' But now, I don't have time for them. I'm kind of busy now." Lunderby's agent, Gina Rodriguez of DD Entertainment, said she was planning big things for the blond jailer. "She's beautiful, she's smart, she sings," Rodriguez told AOL News by phone this summer. "She'll do really well."

Lunderby is working at an Arkansas Hooters and Rodriguez says she is no longer representing the former detention officer. "Most of the things we would book were in [Los Angeles] and it was hard for her to get to them," Rodriguez said this week. "We really couldn't do much for her, so we moved on." But for Lunderby, the fun fallout from her Playboy photo shoot has continued. The Arkansas native has since been picked up by GC Marketing, another publicity firm, and has continued to work with Playboy. On her company profile, Lunderby says she likes her new gig. "There isn't an event that I've worked for them that I didn't leave happy," she said of Playboy.

A7X lose Mike Portnoy

Drummer Mike Portnoy’s tenure with Avenged Sevenfold is up. Portnoy lent his skills to the band following the tragic death of their drummer Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan a year ago. Fans knew something was afoot a few days ago when Mike cryptically wrote on Facebook that he was “sad… It’s been a long, exhausting year (both physically and mentally) with many unexpected ups and downs and I think the most valuable lesson for me has been that the only people you can truly count on is family.”

A few days later, he confirmed that his time with Avenged Sevenfold has come to an end. “The band has decided to carry on into 2011 without me,” Portnoy wrote. “I had a great time with them throughout 2010, but it was their choice to end the relationship at the end of 2010 as was always the initial plan.”

Portnoy went on to say he enjoyed his time with the band and its fans, and that he was looking forward to his musical future.

Portnoy added he is excited about what his future may bring in the world of music and said he hoped to have the chance to work with some of the people in the industry he admires. Avenged Sevenfold may have to move fairly quickly to find a replacement for the drummer as they have a number of tour dates coming up in early 2011.

The first two months of the year will see the group play a host of shows in different US states, with gigs planned in cities including Baltimore, Cincinnati and Detroit.

Meanwhile Avenged Sevenfold have pulled out of Australia’s Soundwave festival – featuring Iron Maiden, Slayer, Primus, Stone Sour, Queens of the Stone Age, Slash, 30 Seconds To Mars, Bullet For My Valentine, Murderdolls, Rob Zombie and more. Soundwave promoter AJ Maddah said the band decided they no longer wanted to play during daylight as agreed, and wanted headliners Iron Maiden to move to an afternoon slot. In a press statement announcing their withdrawal from the festival, Avenged Sevenfold said, “After much effort, the band decided that they could not offer fans the live experience they have come to expect and didn’t want to disappoint them. Avenged Sevenfold will return to Australia soon to headline their own tour.”

"I'm not a social butterfly. I've never been part of a scandal that was really juicy," Scarlett Johansson added. Hmmm, Really?

30 Seconds To Mars - Hurricane Video Uncensored And Analyzed

On Thursday, after two weeks of wrangling, protesting and explaining, 30 Seconds to Mars finally unveiled the "full-length explicit director's cut" (as frontman Jared Leto put it) of their epic "Hurricane" video, which, oddly enough, ended up being two seconds shorter than the version that premiered on MTV.com last month.

Obviously, that's not the only difference between the two videos — we bet you can guess which one features shots of nipple clamps — so we've decided to watch both side by side and take note of all the uncensored action. That includes all the shenanigans you'd probably expect (Leather! Breasts! A woman dressed as a patent-leather horse!) and some you might not (like the mysteriously disappearing camera at Leto's bedside).

So here's a breakdown of all the naughtiness in the uncensored version, compiled after repeated viewings and complete with time codes for your viewing pleasure. Now, if you'll excuse us, we've got to go take a long, long shower.

0:55: Shot of a woman handcuffed to a chair.

1:08: Silhouette of same woman, standing, hands cuffed behind her back.

1:21: Handcuffs hanging on what appears to be a towel rack, shot of woman on all fours, ball gag in mouth

1:41: Leto lying in bed, Fujifilm Instax mini 7 camera (seen at the 1:55 mark of the MTV.com version of the video) is absent from his bedside table.

2:25: Split-second shot of woman throwing her head back in agony, ecstasy, or, more probably, both.

3:03: Nipples!

3:44: A man wearing a leather hood leads a woman in a patent-leather "horse" getup with a bullwhip. This shot is censored in the MTV.com version of the clip.

6:08: A quick montage of shots: a telephone, a roach scurrying, a pair of handcuffs dangling off a urinal, a woman spitting in another woman's mouth. Oddly enough, only the shot of the handcuffs is censored in the MTV version.

7:08: A pair of women wearing tassles on their breasts, bereft of the red bar used in the MTV version. Also, there is a quick scene of a woman stuffing a vibrator in another woman's mouth — cut from the edited version.

9:20: The infamous shot of a woman's finger "running over other woman's bottom in g-string" makes an appearance.

9:23: Shot of woman grabbing her breasts.

9:33: Quick shot of various S&M gear — masks, gloves, ball gag — laid out on bed is cut into the video.

Hedley Like To Step Back For US Success

As one of the biggest bands right now in Canada, rock band Hedley has faced an uphill battle to break into the US market. Having to go from playing sold out stadiums in Canada to playing small clubs in the US, most bands would find the adjustment a humbling experience, but according to Hedley drummer Chris Crippin, it’s a welcomed change for the band.

“Whether it’s a stadium or a small club we’re equipped to play either and we are comfortable playing either,” Crippin told Alternative Addiction during a recent interview. “I am not sure many bands can say that. We just really like playing; I don’t care if it’s for the staff of the bar or whatever.”

The band’s commitment to playing in the US market has definitely been put to the test, especially at show earlier this year in Salt Lake City according to Crippin.

“We played in a shack that had rope lighting and on a stage that was one foot off the ground,” explained Crippin. “It was just this nothing venue, but it turned out to be one of the most fun gigs we’ve ever done. I think like 30 people were there, but we are always happy to play any show.”

Hedley released The Show Must Go their first major label release in the US on December 7th. The album’s first single, “Perfect,” has currently peaked at #37 on the Billboard charts.

Skrillex) with electronica contributions and Canadian electro-pop starlet Lights (on "Crucify Me" and "Don't Go").

The New Album of Blink 182 Will Be Expansive

Mark Hoppus recently talked to MTV.com about Blink 182’s new album, their first since reuniting. The bassist/singer said that the album’s sound will be “expansive” and deal with some of the darker things in the band members’ lives (such as the deaths of producer Jerry Finn and friends DJ AM and Chris Baker).

“We’ve gone through a lot of really heavy stuff over the past few years. ... There’s plenty of heavy stuff to write about,” Hoppus said. “I think in moments it will [be dark]. We’re still just barely getting into the whole writing process. We have about three or four songs done. I wouldn’t say it’s going to be a dark record; I think it’s really an expansive record. There’s stuff that sounds like what we were doing on the last Blink record, and there’s stuff that sounds like what we were doing 10 years ago and stuff that we’ve never done before.”

Mark Hoppus also said that Blink 182, who released their previous record in 2004, will tour behind the new album, due next year. “There’s going to be a new record, tours, the whole deal,” he said. “We’re in the studio pounding it out right now, and it’s going really good. It’s been so great to be back in the studio with Tom Delonge and Travis Barker creating a new album. We can’t wait to get it out there.” Really??

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (Hot News)

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will welcome Tom Waits, Neil Diamond, Darlene Love and the Alice Cooper Band as its 2011 batch of inductees.

Diamond had been eligible for the honor for several years but never received a nomination to join music's prestigious club. But he was never really worried about it.

"I thought about it occasionally, but I kind of figured they'd get around to me at some point," he told the AP in a phone interview.

That point came on Tuesday, as the 2011 class for the Cleveland hall was revealed. Diamond, whose hits include 'Sweet Caroline,' finally made the list.

Piano man Leon Russell was honored with a musical excellence award, previously the sideman category. Executives Jac Holzman and Art Rupe were given the Ahmet Ertegun Awards.

It took three tries before Love, best known for hits such as '(Today I Met) The Boy I'm Gonna Marry' and her work with producer Phil Spector and the Blossoms, was approved for the hall. When reached on Tuesday, an enthusiastic Love said: "I can actually breathe."

"Finally it's done," she added. "It still hasn't hit me yet. I still have that nervous stomach, and I'm still excited."

The excitement will have to wait for some: Bon Jovi, nominated for the first time, was turned away from the hall, as was LL Cool J, the J. Geils Band, the Beastie Boys, Donna Summer and more.

Alice Cooper's name had been mentioned in conjunction with the Rock Hall for years, but the shock rocker hadn't been nominated until this year. Like Diamond, Cooper said he wasn't anxiously waiting.

"You know it crosses your mind, but then you think of all the guys who aren't in there, some of them before you, and you go, 'Wow.' ... You realize that it's a waiting game," he said in a phone interview. "I don't think you sit around holding your breath on it."

Cooper, a heavy metal rocker best known for his dark horror themes, said his band was responsible for bringing show business into rock 'n' roll.

"There was no spectacle in rock 'n' roll, and I think what we did was we kind of brought theater to rock 'n' roll," said Cooper, known for a goth look, heavy eyeliner and black shaggy hair. "It was sort of Cirque du Soleil before Cirque du Soleil. It was kind of a weird vaudeville that we did. But it all connected back to the lyrics. ... If we do a 10-hour rehearsal back then, nine hours was on the music, and one hour was on the theatrics."

Diamond was on the other end of the spectrum, a singer-songwriter whose first hit came in the form of a song he wrote for the Monkees, 'I'm a Believer.' His early hits in the 1960s included 'Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon' and 'Cherry Cherry.'

"The music I was doing was not in vogue. ... I was like a lone voice out there with a guitar, and it was different than what was going on because it was the English invasion and I wasn't doing that," Diamond said. "I think I've had so many hits because what I was putting out and what I was writing was very different for what was being played on the radio."

He's kept producing relevant material through the decades; he released his latest album this fall. Diamond said he was gratified to be in the hall and said his first choice to induct him would be a fan. Of his induction, he joked: "I'm glad they did it before I'm dead."

Love said she thought two of her biggest boosters for the hall -- Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band's Stevie Van Zandt - would likely do the honors at the March 14 induction ceremony in New York City.

She was also happy for some of the other inductees, including Russell, who used to play on some of her sessions.

"This is going to be a helluva jam session," she quipped about the rock and roll hall of fame festivities. The induction ceremony will be aired on Fuse. the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Weezer On The Road For The Memories Tour

As Weezer has been on the road for the Memories Tour, playing The Blue Album one night and Pinkerton the next, it has proved to be an "emotional, cathartic experience," according to frontman Rivers Cuomo. As many rock music fans know, the Pinkerton album was widely rejected when it was first released. But now that it is revered by fans 10 years later, Cuomo feels overjoyed to play those songs live.

"The last time we played all of those songs, they went over like a lead balloon," he told MTV News. "And I remember that feeling of just total rejection. And then to see 5,500 people singing along to every last word through every song on the album, even the really difficult ones, was incredibly validating for me."

Cuomo added that his favorite song to play on this tour -- "Across the Sea" -- comes from Pinkerton, and he described it as "the most personal and intimate and the most 'me' of anything I've ever written." The Memories Tour hits Boston tonight, followed by New York and Chicago, and Cuomo hopes that Weezer can keep the nostalgia trip going into 2011.

"I'm sure Weezer will just keep touring," he said. "And I have a feeling that some of those shows will be these Memories shows, Blue and Pinkerton, and some of the shows will be more like greatest hits, depending on the show."

Papa Roach Much Better With New Label

Papa Roach’s new single Burn is a one-fingered salute to their former record label, says frontman Jacoby Shaddix. The band are still fighting their way through a messy split with Geffen/Interscope in the US – and Shaddix say they’re still owed a “good chunk” of money from their former stable. He tells RockAAA: “There’s a lot of two-faced shit in this business. Geffen/Interscope pissed me off – it was a really bad ending with them.

“They released a greatest hits record against our will. We told them we didn’t want to do it because we were at completely the wrong point in our career.

“They owe us a good chunk of money and they don’t want to give it to us. We’re like, ‘Fuck you, we’re done.’”

Shaddix
says the band are in a much better position with new label Eleven Seven – and hints the band’s next album might be inspired by dubstep music.

He explains: “The only thing that kept us going is writing new music and playing shows. But we’re on the other side of that now. We can do exactly what we want to do – which we’ve always done, but with the support of the record company it’s great.

“I’m listening to a lot of electronic music music just now. I discovered the dupstep scene about a year ago – it’s cool, really beat-oriented. But it has a hard, aggressive sound too.

“We’re not going to turn into a dubstep group but we might use the groove. I love some of the keyboard sounds – they’d be cool in the background of some Roach tunes.” It’s a good distance to travel for a band who managed to shake off the ‘nu-metal’ tag. Shaddix says: “Papa Roach just a hard rock band. We have elements of so many niche genres and we’re kind of genre-less, which is a great thing.”

Paramore to Make New Album at Their Home Next Year

Paramore have admitted that they have mixed feelings about starting work on their fourth album next year. Speaking to MTV News, guitarist Taylor York described the band's feelings about moving from 2009's ‘Brand New Eyes’ as "bittersweet".

The album, which has sold over two million copies and has yielded five singles, is the band’s most successful yet. York has admitted that he’s torn about moving on from it, saying: "We're kind of at the end of this record, but it's bittersweet."

Paramore have also indicated that they will record their new album at their home base in Tennessee rather than on tour. Frontwoman Hayley Williams said: "We like to do it [record albums] at home mostly. We like to wait and kind of really focus on the records when we have time off." Paramore tour South America in February and March 2011.

The New Drummer of Dream Theater

Dream Theater have found their new drummer to replace Mike Portnoy, who left the band earlier this year to pursue other musical avenues. But fans are going to have to wait a little while longer to find out who it is.

According to Blabbermouth.net, guitarist John Petrucci has updated fans with the following message: “Hey, everyone. Wanted to quickly let you all know what’s been happening lately. I know that the big question is ‘Who is the new Dream Theater drummer?’ I also realize that some people are getting frustrated waiting for the news. Well, auditions went great and we do have someone but we are spending some time getting everything in order before making an official announcement. Let me just say that we are all incredibly excited about our choice and just bursting at the seams to let the world know!”

Petrucci goes on to say he’s working on tunes for his next solo album as well as cataloguing riffs for the next Dream Theater album, which the band will start recording next month.

OneRepublic Will Starts Making New Album

OneRepublic guitarist Zach Filkins told Alternative Addiction during a recent interview that the band has started working on their third album, their follow up to 2009's hit album "Waking Up." “The big thing that we are talking about now is a third album,” said Filkins during a phone interview from Italy. “We’ve been playing the songs on Waking Up for a while, and I think we are all beginning to feel like we are ready to have something new coming up.”

Filkins explained that the band is finding musical inspiration from the sights and sounds of their current European tour, much of which the band will draw from for tracks on the third album.

“It definitely sparks the creativity being on the road and seeing different places, hearing different music,” explained Filkins. “That always gets our creativity going. We are at the point now where all of us have these super nerdy mobile studios. So if anyone has any ideas they can just run off to their hotel room and lay something down.”

As for the overall sound of the as-of-yet-untitled third album, Filkins says that rock music fans can expect OneRepublic to refine their sound, much in the same way they did for Waking Up, following the release of their debut Dreaming Out Loud. The refined sound, according to Filkins, had a lot to do with the band avoiding the sophomore slump on their last record.

“If we were to have tried to just re-create “Apologize” I don’t think it would have come off as genuine,” said Filkins of the band’s changing sound. “I think that a lot of the bands that are still out there are the ones that have constantly evolved and reinvented themselves every time they release a new album.”

On the band’s third album, Filkins says fans should expect the band to continue their evolved sound. “Instead of trying to rip ourselves off on every album, we are still going to be us, we’re not going to [change to the point where we] lose all of our fans, but we are going to re-invent ourselves and improve our sound.”

OneRepublic released their final single from Waking Up last month, the track “Good Life,” which is the follow up to the massively successful singles “All The Right Moves” and “Secrets.” Provided the song has similar success as the previous singles, the band expects to play one final tour in 2011 in support of Waking Up before turning their attention solely to writing their third album.

All That Remain's Oli Herbert Interviewed By The Scream Queen

The Scream Queen recently conducted an interview with Oli Herbert, founding member and lead guitarist of the acclaimed metal band ALL THAT REMAINS. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.

The Scream Queen: You just released "For We Are Many" [in October]. How has the response been so far?

Oli: It seems to be pretty decent, you know. You have, obviously, the haters out there on Blabbermouth, but whatever. (laughs) But no, I guess we made #10 on the Billboard Top 200, so can't complain about that.

The Scream Queen: Do you think that because your music is kind of diverse, meaning it has a rock side to it and a metal side to it, that it opens doors for new fans who've never really listened to metal before?

Oli: Oh yeah, absolutely. I mean, if you tell someone you're in a metal band, they get the impression that you're in CANNIBAL CORPSE if they don't listen to metal. I know when I was a kid, I hated metal. Like, when I was 11 or 12, I used to listen to British pop music, you know because it was on the radio and stuff, PET SHOP BOYS, you know. My friends would be like, "Do you like metal?" I'd be like, "No, that stuff is noise to me! They played MÖTLEY CRÜE and I instantly liked it. So, I didn't understand the difference. I think with metal, people's ears have to grow into it. I think that fans of more mainstream-hard-rock will find us more accessible than say, a band like CANNIBAL CORPSE, who are an awesome band, but they're a death metal band.

The Scream Queen: What is something that's always intrigued you about metal?

Oli: I think there was some kind of combination, inner power of darkness, because I was kind of a picked on kid and I needed some kind of strength; something, you know. When I heard MÖTLEY CRÜE's "Shout at the Devil", it was my first foray into metal, and it just brought me into the world. And I started getting into, I was a Dungeons and Dragons geek as a kid, and I started getting into all these fantasy type metal bands like CANDLEMASS and stuff. It just all fit together, and the imagery, back then especially, the mid-'80s was very powerful for a kid entering his teen years, like myself. There was so much allure back then. I got into Satanism for a while, and I had my Satanic bible in school; you know, because I always wanted — I always knew that kids who called themselves Christian, you know, were mean to me, so it must be a bad religion. I read the Bible, I went, "Oh, this makes sense, Do unto others as you would have others do unto you... If someone hurts you, you punch them in the face." (laughs) It made perfect sense to me! So, I think that everything kind of came together, like the whole package of metal, I just fell in love with that part. Later on, down the road, I went to school for music; I consider myself more of a musician than just a metalhead, but definitely when I started off, I was proud to just be called a metalhead, and you know, I still am, but I definitely consider myself to be a musician first and foremost. Not an artist. (laughs) You know people think I'm an artist, it's like, "Shut the fuck up!" It's the most cliché thing people say. I'm a musician. But, metal flows strong through my veins, plus other music, but metal is it.

The Scream Queen: Since you just said you got your Bachelors Degree, what is something you've learned throughout college that you've applied to being in ALL THAT REMAINS?

Oli: Oh God, pretty much everything. I got into composition because I'm a big song-writer in the band, and that's obviously important to be able to have a grasp of what's going on. The way you orchestrate the guitars and just having a handle on being able to listen to different kinds of music and understand it, analyze it, and apply that to a metal situation, I think, is crucial. Because, like you mentioned before, a lot of bands coming out, sounding repetitive. I think the problem with a lot of the new bands that come out is that they're listening to a group of groups, and basically, all they do is copy that; and they're not going back to what influences them, they're not really studying the music. Say, if you wanted to understand, let's say, LED ZEPPELIN, well, you would study blues guitars before them, you don't just — you've got to go to the roots in order to do that. I think bands just don't do that anymore. Well, some do, I don't know if you're familiar with the band DAATH?

The Scream Queen: Yes!

Oli: Eyal [Levi] is — he's a good guitar god! (laughs) But he's a real jazz guitar player, the guy is just amazing. And he's doing Django Reinhardt stuff, the way he incorporates it into metal, it reminds me of Alex (inaudible), it's just a takes you there.

The Scream Queen: What is it, do you think, that makes metal such a tight-knit "community," I guess you could say?

Oli: I think metal, you know, it's kind of got a working-class vibe to it, I was talking to a guy down the street, he was like, "Yeah, you guys should play Red Rocks [Amphitheatre]!" "Like what's the cap[acity] there?" "9000." I'm like, "Nobody in the metal genre, except METALLICA could fill that place." Look at the biggest bands in our genre, I would say like SLIPKNOT and DISTURBED, ROB ZOMBIE, those three together could pack that place. (laughs) SLIPKNOT could pull, you know 4,000 or 5,000. It's tough right now. I think that, coming from that, you're not making a lot of money, but you're having a strong impression on the kids. So, you're also getting to know each other well, you're not isolated in the fancy dressing rooms, you're in one green room with all of the bands. So, I think it's important for bands be friends with each other because if you piss off other bands, you're going to burn bridges. You're going to meet each other down the road at more opportune times. Again, things aren't — I started playing guitar in '88, and in that time period, you had the big arena-rock bands, and there was so much money thrown at them, and in my head I was like, "So that's what being in a band is like!" That was part of the allure, of course in starting too, and then you get to 2010 and obviously it's nothing like that. (laughs) And you better love it, and if you don't love it for what it is, then you're in the wrong business. It can be great, like what fans think, lavish, but it's not like that. (laughs) Those days are gone.

Kings Of Leon - Pyro Music Video & Lyrics

Kings of Leon take it to the seedy bar to perform "Pyro" in their latest music video. Pyro appears in Kings of Leon's fifth studio album "Come Around Sundown" which peaked at No. 2 on Billboard Hot 200 since making its way out in September this year. The making of the music video hit headline last month when a casting company put a controversial advert seeking fans with "physical abnormalities" to appear in the clip.

Kings of Leon are nominated in two categories at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards. The band are up for Best Rock Performance by a Dup or Group With Vocals and Best Rock Song, both thank to the "Come Around Sundown" lead single "Radioactive".

Kings of Leon - Pyro Music Video

Kings of Leon - Pyro Lyrics
A single book of matches
Gonna burn what's standing in the way
Running down the mountain
Now they're calling on the fire brigade

Carry out the pictures
And tell the kids that I'm okay
If'n I'm forgotten
You'll remember me 'fore today

I, I won't ever be your cornerstone
I

All the black inside me
Is slowly seeping from the bone
Everything I cherish
Is slowly dying, or it's gone

Little shaking babies
And drunkards seem to all agree
Once the show gets started
It's bound to be a sight to see

I, I won't ever be your cornerstone
I, I don't wanna be here holding on
I, I won't ever be your cornerstone
I

Watch her run
Can you feel it?
Watch her run
Can you feel it?

Watch her run
Can you feel it?
Watch her run
Can you feel it?

I, I won't ever be your cornerstone
I, I don't wanna be here holding on
I, I won't ever be your cornerstone
I

The clip of Kings Of Leon's Pyro Music Video takes place entirely in a seedy bar, one filled entirely with downtrodden dregs: stumbling drunkards, lecherous lotharios, broken-down bikers, each of them lost in their own boozy worlds, alone together in the room. Their stupors are momentarily broken by the arrival of a young man, who comes in out of the cold to get a drink and then heroically interjects himself in a fight between a burly man and his terrified girlfriend.

He is rewarded for his bravery by getting beaten up — first by the man in question, and then by his surly friends, who take turns pounding on him before tossing him through a mirror while a dead-eyed stripper slowly gyrates away (of course there's a dead-eyed stripper in this place). The sundry of drunks cheer this savagery on and even the bartender gets in on the act, tossing one of the men a baseball bat, presumably to finish off the job. Meanwhile, the band — played by the Kings themselves — plays on, watching the brutality unfold around them.

But then, something sorta miraculous happens. Our hero — flat on his back — slowly begins to rise. His wounds magically heal. He opens his eyes and ascends to the heavens. His assailants can't believe it, and they recoil in shock. Soon, everyone else in the bar begins levitating too — first the purer souls (a caretaker, a terrified young woman, the dead-eyed stripper) and then the rest of the room. The clip ends with everyone slowly floating off into the great beyond, perhaps freed from their personal prisons by this single act of heroism. Or maybe they're all just really wasted.

Either way, that mass ascension manages to put a slightly affirming — not to mention incredibly artistic — capper on the Pyro Music Video. "Pyro" is a solemn, sometimes grotesque thing, but there's a strange beauty to it too. Like a diamond broche on a barroom floor, it sparkles despite all the grime it's coated in. It may not be the easiest thing to watch, but it's ultimately rewarding — chill-inducingly so. Drink up. Source: KINGS OF LEON FANS & MTV.COM

McCartney Pays Tribute To Beatles' Lennon

Paul McCartney made a tribute to former Beatles bandmate John Lennon, last night. The singer appeared on the Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on Thursaday (November 9) performing 'Here Today' for Lennon.

''This is like a song that's a conversation we never had," McCartney said beforehand.

He added: "I always say to people, 'If you love someone, tell them now,' because there may come a point when it's too late and you think 'I wish you said that.'"

Millions of Beatles fans around the world marked the 30th anniversary of John Lennon's death on Wednesday (November 8).

Van Halen Choose Producer

Van Halen appear to have chosen a producer for their rumoured new studio album. It’s said to be John Shanks, with the band reportedly planning to work at his Henson Studio as well as guitarist Eddie Van Halen’s own 5150 facility. Now we must stress that none of this info has been confirmed by official sources. However, according to the Van Halen News Desk (which is totally unofficial) via Blabbermouth, the three Van Halens – Eddie, bassist Wolfgang and drummer Alex – have been working on new music, which they’re then sending to frontman David Lee Roth, who’s adding the lyrics.

According to the site, the band are trawling through Eddie’s extensive library of unreleased songs and riffs, even reaching back to Van Halen’s early unreleased demos for added inspiration.

The site even goes so far as to claim that their sources have heard some of the early versions of certain tracks (without any vocals). Apparently they sound like (and we quote) ‘straight-ahead rock’n’roll and very Van Halen’. Whether any or all of this turns out to be accurate remains to be seen. John Lennon Didn't Wanna Be A Dead Hero

John Lennon said he didn’t want to be a “dead hero” in his last interview – recorded just three days before he was shot dead 30 years ago. The ex-Beatle spoke to Rolling Stone journalist Jonathan Cott on December 5, 1980, and although excerpts of the conversation have been released in the past, it’s the first time the entire interview has been published.

John Lennon, who was 40 when he died, talked about stardom and being a father, while saying he had “plenty of time” to achieve his ambitions. He told Cott: “Critics only like people when they’re on their way up – I can’t be on the way up again. What they want is dead heroes like Sid Vicious and James Dean.

“I have no interest in being a dead fucking hero – so forget them.”

Despite being seen as the icon of a generation, Lennon said he was just doing his job: “I’ve never claimed purity of soul. I’ve never claimed to have the answers to life. I only put out songs and answer questions as honestly as I can. But I still believe in peace, love and understanding.”

Discussing other artists he said: “I’ve selected to work with only two people: Paul McCartney and Yoko Ono. That ain’t bad picking.”

Cott only discovered the original three-hour recording a few months ago. “It was a miracle the tape hadn’t degraded after 30 years,” he says. “All of a sudden this guy’s voice, totally alive, made me feel so inspired that I felt I should transcribe the whole thing.

“He felt like he was in the middle of his journey. It was like a mid-life meditation – I was struck by that.” On the 30th anniversary of her husband’s death Yoko Ono says: “Please join me in remembering John with deep love and respect. The world was lucky to have known him. We still learn from him today. John Lennon, I love you.”

Tips For Acoustic Guitar Tab

If you enjoy the idea of learning the guitar and you visualize yourself sitting down and playing your favorite songs for your own enjoyment, acoustic guitar tabs give you the possibility of realizing your dream. You can pick up an acoustic guitar any time of the day or night and play without disturbing your family or neighbors. Some people even play the acoustic guitar while the family is watching TV in the same room!

Tablature, or tab, is the ideal way for any beginner guitar player to learn or for a more seasoned guitarist to learn new material quickly. A basic definition of guitar tab is a diagram showing the guitar strings with the frets where the guitarist is to play the notes indicated by numbers. Quite often a guitarist approaching a new piece of music will struggle with conventional music notation whereas tab is a quick and easy way of getting the feel of a new piece. Also a pianist or other musician can look at a piece of guitar sheet music and play it right away but would have no hope of playing from guitar tab because it is only written for one instrument. Another limitation of guitar tab is that you won't be able to learn the rhythm from it. You will need a strumming pattern diagram or, having heard the song before, have some idea of how to approach the playing of the rhythm. If you are prepared to live with these limitations tablature will be a great tool for you to learn your favorite songs quickly.

When you search the internet for acoustic guitar tab what kind of music can you expect to find? Well, the variety is astonishing. Basically acoustic guitar tab is written with the idea of the guitar supplying the basic accompaniment for the song. So if you are a singer wanting to interpret the lyrics, your interest in the guitar arrangement may be slight. The second thing acoustic guitar tab usually gives you is the notes for any distinctive melody or riff in the song - music that people recognize before they hear the words being sung. A simple example of this is the few notes repeated throughout the record of "Something" by The Beatles. Of course you are quite free to leave out or change any music to make the arrangement your own.

Acoustic guitar tabs are often fingerstyle arrangements of songs. These arrangements will not be readily available in music stores or the usual sources of sheet music on the internet. Fingerstyle arrangements can give you some added depth to your guitar playing even if you don't utilize all the techniques shown in the tab. Finally there is one advantage to using acoustic tab for electric guitar players. You can learn the muisc for the song without having to set up your guitar and amp. You can work on arranging your song for electric guitar once you know the chords and the basic structure.
