Asking Alexandria Problems In Seattle

Several hours ago Asking Alexandria posted the following statement on the band's Facebook page: "We are so sorry Seattle. We will make this right. Once Danny wakes up from his nightmare that was tonight, he will face the music. Thank you to everyone who stayed with us through all of it and joined us on stage to keep the spirit alive. Forgive us Seattle. We will make this right."

The band then followed that message with this statement:

"We are NOT breaking up and we are all still 5 united brothers in this together. Tomorrow Danny will speak for himself to all of you about what happened tonight in Seattle. We love you guys, you are the best fans in the world!"

Although the band didn't specifically state what caused the problem, vocalist Danny Worsnop has now updated his Twitter account with the following string of messages (condensed into one paragraph here):

"I'm a fucking idiot. I should never blame my actions on my relapses but tonight made me realize I have a problem. I for the first time in my life want to fix myself. I now know what regret is! I apologize from the bottom of my heart. Hopefully I grow to have some sort of compassion to myself, I live for self destruction and that's wrong. Nothing changes when you're killing yourself with poison.

I love you all. And I hope you can forgive me. I officially am quitting drugs and getting drunk here and now. I want to clean up and sort my fucking life out. I'll never stop hating myself until I stop killing myself. Thank you all for standing by me. If any R&R shows get canceled, I'm away fixing Myself. I hope you understand." In Flames New Album Release Dates

Swedish melodic death metallers In Flames have announced that they have signed a new record deal with Century Media for their forthcoming new studio album, "Sounds Of A Playground Fading," which will be released on June 20th in Europe and June 21st in North America. Speaking on the signing, Antje Lange of Century Media stated:

"We are very happy to make In Flames part of the Century Media Family. The band has a very loyal international fan base and has found a partner with an international set up."

Anders Fridén of In Flames also added:

"This is number 10... Album number 10! That we even made it this far, that is amazing. Then, to deliver the album of our career that is something else... It's fast, slow, heavy and mellow. It's happy, sad, angry and calm. Sounds Of A Playground Fading is everything we ever done on crack (it’s a metaphor boys and girls), it's cask strength whiskey when it's THAT perfect moment. Use and abuse! By the way, we are happy to be in bed with Century Media. They know the business, we know the music, a perfect match. What can possibly go wrong... ha, ha, ha!!!!!!"

Rock ’n’ Roll isn’t Dead

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl was recently asked if he thought rock and roll was dead. It’s not the smartest question to ask a member of two rock titans – Nirvana and the Foos.

“I said, ‘Dude, ask the 130,000 people who are coming to see us at England’s Milton Keynes Bowl in July. Ask the 2,000 people who were drinking and having the night of their life at South by Southwest,” Grohl recounted to Billboard.com. He and his band recently hit up SXSW to promote the new documentary about the band, Back and Forth, and their forthcoming album, Wasting Light.

“Just because rock ’n’ roll isn’t #1 in the commercial mainstream doesn’t mean it’s gone,” he said. “It doesn’t mean it’s dead. All I know is what rock ’n’ roll means to me. It’s this living, breathing thing that you can see in someone’s eye.”

Grohl said that he loves being in a band that can play to hundreds of thousands of people in a massive venue, but also connect to fans in a more intimate way.

Download Panic! At the Disco's Vices and Virtues

Panic! at the Disco is coming out with their third album, Vices and Virtues, on March 22. After being a bit surprised by the change of sound in their second album, Pretty. Odd., I was interested to see where this third attempt would take them. Much to my surprise, this album seems like a more polished version of their 2005 A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out.

With edgy songs like "The Ballad of Mona Lisa" and "Let’s Kill Tonight," alongside more mellow ones like "Memories" and "Sarah’s Smiles," Panic! at the Disco finally learned how to work with their original wittiness and place it on a spectrum of sound.

It seems like Panic! at the Disco finally fell into their sound. This third album is a perfect synthesis of musical maturity, lyrical wittiness, and sound exploration. Read more on Free Download Panic! At the Disco’s New Album – Vices and Virtues.

Asking Alexandria banned from playing their venue

The UK hard rock sensation, Asking Alexandria, have blazed a trail of debauchery across North America over the course of numerous tours and their touring lifestyle is now becoming infamous, which has been heralded by many mainstream publications. The group's reckless image proved to be too much for the conservative venue Rockettown in Nashville, TN who deemed the band "too controversial" and banned them from playing their venue.

This primarily Christian area hasn't been this riled up since the days of the antichrist Marilyn Manson's notorious run, but Asking Alexandria make no apologies as rock n' roll is supposed to be dangerous and exciting. They managed to move their headlining show to the Cannery Ballroom on April 12th and welcome all the haters to come and join the party. Source: lambgoat.com

Cavalera Conspiracy's Blunt Force Trauma Available For Streaming

Cavalera Conspiracy - the project featuring former Sepultura members Max (guitar, vocals) and Igor Cavalera (drums) - will release its sophomore album, "Blunt Force Trauma", on March 29 via Roadrunner Records. The entire CD is now available for streaming for a limited time at RoadrunnerRecords.de.

"Blunt Force Trauma" was once again tracked with ex-Machine Head/Soulfly guitarist Logan Mader, who co-produced the Lp with Max. Logan also mixed the follow-up to the band's debut album, "Inflikted", which has sold less than 50,000 copies in the United States since its March 2008 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The brothers Cavalera co-founded Sepultura, the Brazilian metal band that redefined and established the genre outside of the U.S. and Europe. After Max exited the band, there was a rift between himself and his brother, one that was eventually repaired through the redemptive power of music. Some time had passed and Max and Igor were unable to resist the musical pull in their magnetic fields and their musical collaboration was renewed. The duo are back for round two with Cavalera Conspiracy.

Cavalera Conspiracy's lineup is filled out by guitarist Marc Rizzo, who plays with Max in Soulfly, and bassist Johnny Chow.

Bring Me The Horizon - Blessed With A Curse Music Video

British metalcore outfit Bring Me The Horizon has posted their new music video online for the song, "Blessed With A Curse." You can check it out below. The track comes from the group's latest studio album, "There Is A Hell, Believe Me I've Seen It. There Is A Heaven, Let's Keep It A Secret," which is available now. Watch Bring Me The Horizon - Blessed With A Curse Music Video below.

The track represents the band’s more mature sound, as they continue to define modern metal and rock. Oli Sykes’ desperate vocals tear over epic delay effects and thumping drum lines, building up to a masterful guitar solo, regarded by many to be the most satisfying moment in BMTH’s catalogue - a far cry from the frantic and youthful metalcore of old.

The video, filmed in Oslo, is one of the band’s most stylized and artistic videos to date, leaving the viewer to make your own conclusions as to the meaning of the inventive camerawork and fast paced metaphors. Blessed With A Curse will join the band’s video hit list, which currently numbers over 50 million YouTube views. BMTH were also named as the most popular band on MySpace UK last year.

BMTH are currently on tour in the US with A Day To Remember and return to headline a UK tour in April and May including a sold out show at London’s Brixton Academy – see flyer below for dates.

Smashing Pumpkins New Free Song

The Smashing Pumpkins have just released their ninth free track, "Lightning Strikes", via RollingStone.com. Pumpkins leader Billy Corgan says the song is "dedicated with affection to Mark Tulin...and all our great Japanese fans who are in our prayers." Mark Tulin, the bassist and founding member of the pioneering psych-rockers the Electric Prunes, died last month. Tulin played in the Pumpkins and appears on tracks from the band's "Teargarden By Kaleidyscope" work. He also toured with Corgan in the band Spirits In The Sky in 2009.

"Lightning Strikes" is now the ninth song to be offered to fans via free download. It is from the Pumpkins' "Teargarden By Kaleidyscope", an in-progress 44-song work. Since December 2009, the band has been releasing one song at a time for free, with eight of the songs also available on two physical EPs that were released in 2010.

The Smashing Pumpkins - singer/guitarist Billy Corgan, guitarist Jeff Schroeder, drummer Mike Byrne and bassist Nicole Fiorentino - recorded "Lightning Strikes", says Corgan, "by all the members of the band after we came off our last tour" at the end of 2010. "I feel this song organically hints at new directions without being forced."

"Lightning Strikes" has an interesting back story. Explains Corgan: "It was supposed to be more of a fun thing, a song originally written for the Electric Prunes. But I found an element in it that suggested a bigger picture, and unfortunately I stole it back from them. The lyric in my mind combines the isolation of modern life with the need for a never ending romantic story."

Ashley Greene and Jared Followill are "just friends"

Following reports that Joe Jonas and Breaking Dawn actress Ashley Greene had gone their separate ways, we’d heard rumors that she was already dating Kings Of Leon rocker Jared Followill.

Perhaps Miley Cyrus is still trying to dig her claws into Jared, as previously reported, because Ashley’s rep is now issuing a statement denying the rumors. Her rep said that the Ashley and Jared are “just friends” and left it at that. Do you believe the hype?

The pair were recently papped hanging out in New York where, according to one of The Sun's unnamed "sources", they were "dancing and flirting" together in a bar.

All sweet and innocent stuff, of course, but the newspaper also points out that Greene has only just split from her ex, Jonas Brothers' Joe Jonas.

She seemed to be enjoying herself with her new buddy, writing at Twitter.com/ashleymgreene: "Good food. Good friends. Great day. Now I'm at home watching Beauty And The Beast, haha." What a beautiful love story (the Disney film, we mean).

Sepultura Guitarist Replacing Scott Ian in Anthrax for Sonisphere

Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian has announced that he will miss his band’s summer shows in Europe (July 2-16) because his wife is expecting their first child. That means Ian will miss all of the announced Big Four shows (with Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth), with the exception of April’s date in Indio, California.

Ian confirmed the news on Anthrax.com, where it was announced that Sepultura guitarist Andreas Kisser will be playing in his absence.

Although Ian won’t be available in July, Anthrax will still tour with Sepultura’s Andreas Kisser taking his place. “We chose Andreas because we feel he can do the gig better than anyone,” Ian said in a statement.

“He has the fire, the attitude, and the crushing right hand to do the gig.” Ian also confirmed that Anthrax will release their tenth studio album this year. "From the tracks I have heard, it is going to tear your fucking heads off," he said.

According to The Pulse Of Radio, it was 25 years ago this month that Metallica released its epic third studio album, "Master Of Puppets". The disc was released on March 3, 1986 and was produced by Flemming Rasmussen, who also produced 1984's "Ride The Lightning" and 1988's "...And Justice For All" for the band. In an interview with Phoenix New Times, Rasmussen was asked if he knew the album was special while he was working on it. He replied, "Oh yes. Right from the demos, we pretty much knew this was gonna be a killer album. I think we all felt that this was gonna be the best Metallica album yet, as we had a bunch of really strong songs. Even the instrumentals were awesome."

"Master Of Puppets" was the last album to feature bassist Cliff Burton, who died in a tour bus crash in September 1986 and was replaced by Jason Newsted. Rasmussen said about Burton, "He was surely one of a kind, and even though Jason is a great bass player, it was impossible to fill out Cliff's shoes." What do you think about this Top 50 Metal Songs?

Green Day, 'Awesome As Fuck' Available For Streaming

Green Day's new live album 'Awesome As Fuck' is available for streaming. It is officially released on Monday (March 21). The album features 17 tracks recorded at 16 different locations on the band's 2009/10 world tour. It includes the little-played 'Who Wrote Holden Caulfield?' from the band's 1992 album 'Kerplunk' and 'Going To Pasalacqua' from their vinyl-only debut album, '39/Smooth'. 'Awesome As Fuck' is the band's second live album. Their first was 2005's 'Bullet In A Bible', which was recorded at the Milton Keynes Bowl earlier that year.

After wrapping up the tour, the trio spent some time trolling through their performances, selecting the most explosive for inclusion on the live album. The result is an electric compilation of 17 songs from performances in cities around the world, including newer hits, like 'Know Your Enemy' and '21 Guns,' as well as older classics, like 'When I Come Around,' and 'Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life).' Fans who purchase the album on iTunes will also get two extra bonus tracks. Foo Fighters to play gig in aid of Christchurch quake relief

Foo Fighters are doing their bit to help some of their Kiwi fans by announcing a special New Zealand show in aid of the Christchurch earthquake appeal. The charity gig will take place on 22 March at the Auckland Town Hall with tickets going on sale from Friday (18 March) at www.theedge.co.nz. All proceeds will be donated to the CHCH Earthquake Relief Fund.

Foo Fighters mainman Dave Grohl had previously recorded a video message of support for those affected by the earthquake, which struck in February and killed at least 163 people.

Foo Fighters are out loud in their latest music video supporting their new single "Rope". On Thursday night (March 9), the Foo Fighters premiered Rope Music Video on MTV, the second single for their upcoming album Wasting Light.

In the video, which was released a couple of weeks ago, Grohl had said: "We hope that we can see you soon, and do what we can to bring a little bit of happiness back in to your lives." The Auckland Town Hall website writes that the hall is "renowned for its acoustics" and that it is the "preferred venue for those entertainers whose art form lends itself to a more intimate setting", but one must presume a guitar-shredding rendition of 'Monkey Wrench' will go down a treat nonetheless.

As I Lay Dying New Video Interview

Russell "Evil G." Johnson of BareBonesMusic.com recently conducted an interview with Tim Lambesis (vocals) and Phil Sgrosso (guitar) of San Diego, California metallers As I Lay Dying. You can now watch the chat below.

As I Lay Dying is currently taking part in a U.S. headlining tour with support from WINDS OF PLAGUE and AFTER THE BURIAL. The trek is hitting cities that the band hasn't been to in years and other places the group has yet to visit, including Green Bay, WI; Pensacola, FL; Burlington, VT; and much more. This is a great opportunity for fans to see As I Lay Dying in an intimate club setting, which should make for some insane circle pits and stage dives.

As I Lay Dying released a super deluxe fan box set version of its latest album, "The Powerless Rise", in November. "The Powerless Rise" sold 38,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 10 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band's previous CD, "An Ocean Between Us", opened with 39,500 units back in August 2007 to land at No. 8. "The Powerless Rise" was released on May 11, 2010 via Metal Blade Records. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducts Alice Cooper, Neil Diamond and More

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Last night at the Waldorf-Astoria, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame conducted their 27th annual induction ceremony, honoring musicians Tom Waits, Alice Cooper, Neil Diamond, Dr. John and Darlene Love; non-performers Jac Holzman and Art Rupe; and "sideman" Leon Russell. The ceremony will be aired on Sunday at 9 p.m. on Fuse, with performances by the inductees and everyone from Bette Midler to Bruce Springsteen to John Mayer. Of course where there's music there's fashion; when asked where he got the flashy shoes to go along with his purple suit, Dr. John responded, "The pimp store."

Alice Cooper, who performed in a shirt splattered with fake blood, said of his band, "We've always been a hard-rock band. We just wanted to decorate it a little differently." Numerous combinations of musicians teamed up for performances, including Cooper and Diamond taking the stage together, but we can't wait to catch Tom Waits and Neil Young playing "Get Behind the Mule." Check out video of the red carpet below:

The class of 2011 also ushered in Leon Russell in the "Recording Excellence Category," formerly known as the sideman's slot. It's an odd description for Russell, who has as high a front man profile as anyone in the performers category.

"No voice drove me crazier than Darlene Love," said Bette Midler in her introduction of the '60s singer. "She picked us up by the scruffs of our necks and shook the starch out of us."

Love returned the affection by saying Midler was "one of the handful of stars who always returned my calls." In ushering in rock bad guy Cooper, Rob Zombie said, "They were more than a band. They were more like a murderous band of drag queens - in a good way."

"I wish I could say that now that we're in the Hall of Fame we won't embarrass you," said Cooper, upon accepting his honor. "But I can't. It's what we do."

At a ceremony at New York's Waldolf Astoria Hotel, singer-songwriter Tom Waits joined the pantheon of other music legends as a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Musician Neil Young bestowed Waits with the honor, calling him "indescribable." Waits joked that "they say I have no hits and I'm difficult to work with —and they say it like this is a bad thing." While he has not a hit on the charts, he has been a great influence on a number of artists. Many have chosen to record their own versions of his songs, including Bruce Springsteen, Rod Stewart, and Johnny Cash.

Scars On Broadway - Fucking Music Video Online

Scars On Broadway New Music Video Online. Scars On Broadway has posted its new music video online. The first 500 people in line for the Avalon show received a free, limited-edition seven-inch vinyl record of the band's new song "Fucking". Of those 500, the first 20 in line got an autographed version. The limited vinyl printing is the only hard copy version in existence, featuring rare cover art by Vartan Malakian.

The video can be viewed in the player below.

Scars On Broadway returned to the live stage on May 2, 2010 after a 17-month absence to play a headlining show at The Troubadour in West Hollywood, California. The band debuted a new song, reportedly entitled "Talkin' Shit", and was joined for two tracks — "Cute Machines" and "They Say" — by System of a Down bassist Shavo Odadjian on third guitar. From its early days, Daron Malakian always addressed the project as just rock, and "a lot more rock driven, although there will be some metal influences in the System of a Down style". On what direction the debut album would take, Malakian states: "It will probably be something electronic mixed in with traditional Armenian and thrash, death, black, and doom metal influences.

Bring Me the Horizon are stepping up a rung headlining in much bigger venues as they tour to support There Is a Hell, Believe Me I’ve Seen It. There Is a Heaven, Let’s Keep It a Secret. Guitarist Jona Weinhofen admitted they took a gamble with the record, but feels it’s paid off. In an exclusive interview with RockAAA.com he said: “Honestly I think we took a bit of a gamble with the record. We wrote music to please ourselves more than our fans, we took a huge risk and that could have backfired on us.

“However once we heard the finished product, it didn’t matter whether it sounded a bit different to the older material, or the production was bigger and more experimental. It only mattered that we wrote a really good record and our fans and even people who weren’t fans before responded well to the album.

“To add to that, the praise we have received from press, peer musicians and musicians who we’ve looked up to for years like Robb Flynn (Machinehead), Wes Borland (Limp Bizkit) and Simon Neil (Biffy Clyro), who couldn’t be stoked with that!?”

Jona added: “Playing bigger venues is something we’re still getting used to. It’s a really cool thing to know that your fan base is still growing and for us that is a sign of longevity and that we will hopefully have a long future of playing music professionally which ultimately is our main goal as a band.

“We have talked about using bigger production and fitting our live show accordingly to these bigger venues. Hopefully it will be feasible and we can make something really cool out of this next headline tour!” And for the former Bleeding Through guitarist, joining BMTH in 2009 was a match made in heaven for both parties. Jona said:

“I’m fairly new to the band, I replaced Curtis, so I wasn’t really around when all the problems between Curtis and the band were going down.
“I was close with the band and had been told some of what was going on but it sounded like it generally wasn’t working out for either party.

“Luckily for me it came at a perfect time as I had just left a band and was completely free. Being old mates, I offered to fill in for the band until they found someone more permanent. Then we all enjoyed it so much i ended up being the permanent member.

“The vocal thing just sort of came about by accident. I had done a little bit of backup singing and clean vocals in previous bands and I asked Oli if he wanted me to help thicken up any parts. “We started off with some really small with parts here and there and now with the new songs, and some of the phrasing being particularly fast, I help out quite a bit with call and answer type singing with Oli.” And with the festival season just around the corner, BMTH cannot wait to head back to Donington Park.

Former Iron Maiden singer Paul Di'Anno jailed for benefit fraud

Former Iron Maiden singer Paul Di'Anno has been sentenced to nine months in prison for fraud. The singer, real name Paul Andrews, pleaded guilty to eight counts of benefit fraud amounting to more than £45,000 at Salisbury Crown Court earlier this month.

According to the Daily Mail D'Anno will serve at least four-and-a-half months in prison before being eligible for parole.

He was charged after investigators at the Department of Work and Pensions received an anonymous tip-off that he was still performing live, despite saying he was unable to work. They reviewed YouTube videos of him onstage as recently as 2006, despite him claiming incapacity benefit since 2002.

During his sentencing in Salisbury Crown Court today (March 11) Jane Miller QC ignored a plea from Paul Di'Anno, in which he said he had received very little from performing, and needed to support his family. Read more on Ex-Iron Maiden’s Paul Di’Anno Jailed.

Foo Fighters - Rope Music Video

Foo Fighters are out loud in their latest music video supporting their new single "Rope". On Thursday night (March 9), the Foo Fighters premiered Rope Music Video on MTV, the second single for their upcoming album Wasting Light. Check it out below:

"Nowadays, if we go play in a club and someone has a video phone, they film it and then they put it on YouTube and it becomes a video," Dave said to MTV. "The distribution of any of that information or images, it goes out everywhere, like that. ... That's f***ing rad."

Of the "Rope" video, he said, "We shot the video ... in a big soundstage in Los Angeles. And we had to build this cube out of fabric and wood for the band to play within, and it's lit from outside. ... At first it just seems like we're in this glowing white room from within, and then towards the end, the big reveal is we're in this room, which is within a massive room."

Following hot on the heels of Wasting Light’s April 12 release will be Medium Rare, a vinyl-only compendium of the Foo Fighters’ arsenal of classic cover tunes, released to commemorate this year’s annual Record Store Day (at participating stores only). Foo Fighters - White Limo Music Video is Cool!

Foo Fighters - White Limo Music Video is Cool! "White limo" is, despite any arguments, the new video from Foo Fighters. Filmed on what looks like a handheld VHS camera, the video follows the band in a white Cadillac limo around LA, filled with screaming, puking and rocking out. If you wonder who is doing the drunk driving, it's none other than Motorhead's Lemmy Kilmister.

The video can be truly branded with the Foo Fighter's trademark; not many bands can pull off a funny video from a hardcore rock song. Even when he is screaming his lungs out, Dave Grohl keeps his comical presence. I also have to mention bassist Pat Smear in the role of a drug dealer.

Because while “Rope” is most certainly a welcome addition to the Foos’ already packed video cabinet, it’s also their first major clip to be shot on VHS … a move that Grohl said had everything to do with his experience of making “White Limo.”

“[The video is] cool, we also did it to VHS. We did a video for the song ‘White Limo’ a few weeks before that, which is just something we did in a couple days,” he said. “I directed it and I really wanted it to have that old VHS look to it. Because VHS tape does weird things to color and definition, and it just looks … like VHS. And so, the ['Rope' video] is on VHS too [and] it definitely has a vibe. Just the look of the tape.” And though “Rope” is most certainly a performance video, it also represents Foo Fighters embracing the DIY aesthetics of today’s YouTube world, in their own rather unique way, of course.

Before Terror, vocalist Scott Vogel was already popular among the underground scene, singing for mid-90s Buffalo bands Slugfest, Despair, and Buried Alive. Drummer Nick Jett and ex-guitarist Todd Jones were members of the well-known hardcore band Carry On (who had releases on Bridge Nine and Youngblood Records). Carl Schwartz recorded much of Always the Hard Way after quitting the band to front First Blood full time.

The Death of Mike Starr - Alice in Chains Bassist

Michael Christopher "Mike" Starr (April 4, 1966 – March 8, 2011) was an American musician, best known as the original bassist in Alice in Chains, with whom he played from the band's formation in 1987 until 1993. Mike Starr, the original Alice in Chains bassist who suffered a long battle with heroin addiction, was found dead on Tuesday. He was 44.

Starr's body was discovered at a private residence in Salt Lake City, but the cause of death remains unknown. "There is nothing to indicate that this was foul play by another individual," said authorities, according to The Guardian. Shortly after the band's 1992 breakthrough album, "Dirt," Starr broke off from Alice in Chains midtour and was replaced by Black Sabbath bassist Mike Inez. Years later Starr admitted that his reason for departing was a growing drug addiction.

In April 2002, Alice in Chains founding vocalist Layne Staley, who also suffered from a severe heroin addiction, died of an overdose at his home in Seattle.

Last month Starr was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance in Salt Lake City. He was held on $20,000 bail. Sun Red Sun was a heavy metal supergroup between 1992 and 1993 and featured Starr along with drummer Bobby Rondinelli (Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult), vocalist Ray Gillen (Badlands, Black Sabbath) and guitarist Al Romano (Joey Belladonna).

Mike Starr was later featured in the third season of the VH1 reality television series Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew in 2010, which documented his treatment for heroin addiction beginning in August 2009 at the Pasadena Recovery Center. His subsequent stint staying in a sober living environment was then documented on the spinoff Sober House. He and fellow recovering addicts Mackenzie Phillips and Tom Sizemore appeared in the eighth episode of Celebrity Rehab's fourth season to provide testimonials about their recovery to that season's patients. During this appearance, Starr marked six months and seven days of sobriety.

Nicklas Engelin Replace Jesper Strömblad Permanently

Swedish melodic death metal outfit In Flames has announced that Nicklas Engelin will be the group's new permanent second guitar player, replacing longtime member Jesper Strömblad, who left the band in February of last year. The group's new album, "Sounds Of A Playground Fading" is expected to be released sometime around May.

Gardenian is freaking solid. Half the In flames members started that group in the 90′s. Somebody think it was the subteranean time frame. Engelin has a long story of connections with In Flames. He already was part of the band in 1997-1998, after Glenn Ljungström left and before Björn Gelotte switched the drums for the guitar. After that, he has toured with the band in 2006 - 2007 and in 2009, to fill in for Jesper Strömblad while he has been struggling with its alcohol addiction.

Alice Cooper Talk About Welcome 2 My Nightmare (VIDEO)

Legendary rocker Alice Cooper spoke to USA Today about "Welcome 2 My Nightmare", a sequel to his platinum-selling 1975 album "Welcome to My Nightmare", which he is currently putting the finishing touches on with producer Bob Ezrin. According to Alice, portions of the LP — for which Cooper and Ezrin wrote songs with BUCKCHERRY guitarist Keith Nelson — reunite the surviving Alice Cooper members. Others were recorded with members of Cooper's touring band, as well as former guitarists Steve Hunter and Dick Wagner. The CD also features cameos from Rob Zombie, former MARILYN MANSON and current ROB ZOMBIE guitarist John 5 and Vince Gill. Watch the video interview below.

Alice Cooper has announced a revamped band lineup for his "No More Mr. Nice Guy" summer tour. The trek will kick off in North America May 12-21, then go to South America May 25 - June 3, and England and the rest of Europe June 7 - July 16, before returning to North America again for the month of August.

Alice is bringing back to his stage show guitarist Steve Hunter, who famously toured and recorded with him for several years. Additionally, Tommy Henriksen will be replacing Keri Kelli on guitar, and Damon Johnson will be continuing with the band, making for a three-guitar attack.

As a result, Love It to Death sold 1 million copies and got Alice Cooper on the radio with I'm Eighteen. Ezrin produced the band's biggest albums —Killer, School's Out, Billion Dollar Babies, Muscle of Love — and Cooper's early solo work, like Welcome to My Nightmare and Alice Cooper Goes to Hell. He went on to produce key albums for Kiss (Destroyer), Lou Reed (Berlin) and Pink Floyd (The Wall).

"Alice Cooper was the first thing that got me excited about music," says Zombie, who'll induct the band into the hall. "He invented everything that is now a staple in rock music. People you wouldn't even think of owe him. People thought it was so neat when Michael Jackson used Vincent Price on Thriller. But it was even cooler when Alice Cooper did it nine years before" on Nightmare.

The four surviving Alice Cooper band members — Alice Cooper (vocals), Neal Smith (drums), Michael Bruce (rhythm guitar), Dennis Dunaway (bass) — will perform at their Rock And Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on March 14 in New York City, and again at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards show in on April 20 in Los Angeles, California. Guitarist Steve Hunter, who played in Cooper's "Welcome to My Nightmare" band, will fill in for the late Glen Buxton.

Arctic Monkeys: ‘Brick By Brick’ Music Video

Arctic Monkeys have dropped the video for a new track, Brick By Brick, with what sounds like drummer Matt Helders singing lead. Check it out below:

This sure as hell wouldn’t have fit on Humbug. Maybe My Favourite Worst Nightmare, but… not really. This one’s an odd bird, and despite the hot little tempo shift halfway through I can’t say it stands tall with their previous work.

It’s considerably less appealing than what we heard at the Queens of the Stone Age Brian O’Connor Benefit last August, where Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner debuted new material with Miles Kane of The Little Flames for a project called The Last Shadow Puppets. Source: antiquiet.com

Kairos - The New Album of Sepultura

Brazilian thrash metal legends Sepultura have announced that the name of their forthcoming new studio album will be "Kairos." The album is expected to be released sometime around May and will be the band's first for their new record label, Nuclear Blast.

A recent update from the band regarding the recording process reads as follows:
"February 28th was the last day at Trama Studios for Sepultura. The recording is done!
"Cover artwork is done, album tracklist is set, booklet band photo is taken and mixing starts right away."

Sepultura's new CD was recorded at Trama Studios in São Paulo, Brazil with producer Roy Z. 13 tracks were laid down during the sessions, including cover versions of Ministry's "Just One Fix" and The Prodigy's "Firestarter", both of which are expected to be made available as bonus tracks on various special-edition releases (although, according to Kisser, they turned out so well that they may also make the regular version of the album).

Among the songs that will appear on the effort are "No One Will Stand" and "Born Strong", which are said to deal with balancing road life with raising a family as well as the bandmembers' experiences as musicians and as people. Sepultura debuted a brand new song from the upcoming CD during an October 17, 2010 appearance at the Fúria Festival at HSBC Brasil in São Paulo.

Blink 182's Travis Barker Rocks With Britney Spears

Britney Spears continues to slowly tease fans with clips from her upcoming album, Femme Fatale, which is due on March 29. Earlier this week she debuted a piece of a new song called "Seal It With A Kiss," and yesterday she offered a taste of the slower song "Criminal." Now the news has come out that drummer Travis Barker was one of Spears' collaborators on the album.

"I'm really excited... I did two songs on her album, and one of the songs I did, I brought in Travis Barker, and it's got this rock feel which is out of the box, out of my norm, and I think it's out of her norm as well," producer Rodney Jerkins told Headline News' Showbiz Tonight. "We had a great time making this record." He added that the project is "classic Britney spears, uptempo heavy, of course. It's new and different."

Meanwhile, fans are speculating that the next single from Femme Fatale will be the Ke$ha-penned track, "Till the World Ends." The artwork for the cover of the single was posted at Deezer.com, which fueled those rumors. Ke$ha recently spoke to Spin.com about the song, saying that it was written about the power of an artist performing a great gig. "That song is me imagining her and any female musician touring the world," Ke$ha explained. "You know, when you go out, and you're having an amazing, magical night and you don't want to go to sleep and you want it to last until the world ends."

Travis Barker Never Play Drums Again?

Is Travis Barker Never Play Drums Again? Between his new solo album, Give the Drummer Some, and a Blink-182 reunion album, Travis Barker has a pretty busy year ahead of him. But, for a while, he wasn’t sure he’d ever play again. Barker was seriously injured in a 2008 small plane crash and the drummer recently told RollingStone.com that very few people knew how badly he was hurt.

For a while after my accident, I was just recovering,” he said. “No one really thought I would be able to play drums after all the surgeries and everything. That was always on my mind. Once I was in the studio, it was like, ‘I can walk now, I can play the drums still. I have to finish [the solo album].’”

Barker’s recovery included 16 surgeries and he almost had one of his feet amputated. He also said his left hand was completely numb for a while. “It was sketchy, so I came a long way. And mentally I was a basket case,” he said. “It was a big amount of time to get off of 20 medications that they had me on, and then physically getting in shape. It was heavy.”

But now Travis Barker set to release his solo record, featuring Slash and Tom Morello, on March 15. Since reuniting with Blink-182 members Tom DeLonge and Mark Hoppus in 2009, Barker has been working on the punk band’s new album, which will finally see the light of day in June. Travis Barker has premiered a new song from upcoming solo album Give the Drummer Some. The track features rock legend Slash along with Tim Armstrong and Skinhead Rob from the Transplants. The album will feature numerous guests including The Cool Kids, RZA, Ludacris, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, T.I., Game, Raekwon, Tom Morello, Slash, Steve Aoki, Pharrell, Clipse, Kid Cudi, Yelawolf, Snoop Dogg, Drake, Lupe Fiasco, Swizz Beatz, Bun B and Tech N9ne, and is due to be released March 15,2011. Listen to the track here.

Marc Hudson - Dragonforce's new lead singer

The Dragonforce's new lead vocalist. British based power metal outfit Dragonforce has announced that they have finally found themselves a new lead vocalist, who comes in the form of 23 year old Marc Hudson. Hudson will be taking over the role from former vocalist ZP Theart, who left the band in March of last year.

"I'm really excited about being a part of the DragonForce family." Says Marc. "It's always been my dream to dedicate my life to making music. I'm going to bring all the power and emotion I can to the songs, and help make the killer new record the fans have been waiting for!"

Born in Oxford England, Hudson was picked from the thousands of applications via a number of video auditions and live performances, which left the rest of the band in no doubt that they’d found their man. Since the age of 16, Hudson has been building his vocal skills, gigging with bands in the UK underground scene, developing a powerful style with influences which include Bruce Dickinson, Michael Kiske and Sebastian Bach.

Guitarist Herman Li added: "After almost a year of searching around the globe, it's great to be able to finally tell our fans the good news. Marc's expressive and melodic vocals are sounding phenomenal on the new songs, adding another dimension to the DragonForce sound that I am sure all the fans will love."

Dragonforce have frequently referred to their style as power metal. Herman Li commented on descriptions of the band's style in an interview with Guitar World: "'Nintendo metal', 'extreme power metal', 'Bon Jovi on speed', 'Journey meets Slayer', ... people are always coming up with weird labels for us." The band has sometimes been mislabeled as a speed metal band due to the fast tempos present in their songs, but always as a supplement to other types of metal descriptors. Good Luck Marc Hudson!

The Strokes' new song 'You're So Right' is Here. The song features on the New York band's forthcoming new album 'Angles', which is out on March 21.
