Corey Taylor Set To Release his First Book

Slipknot/Stone Sour singer Corey Taylor is preparing to release his first book, Seven Deadly Sins, on July 12 in the U.S. and July 14 in the U.K. The book is part memoir about Taylor's youth in Iowa and part candid manifesto reflecting on the subject and nature of sin. As Taylor's career as a singer began to take off and he delved into his hard partying ways, he started thinking about what it really meant to sin. The book encompasses Taylor's personal story, but it's also a larger discussion of what it means to be seen as either a "good" person or a "bad" one.

"I've been threatening to write a book for a long time, but since every Tom, Dick and Harry writes an autobiography, I didn't want to just do that," Taylor explained. "My approach to writing is the same as my approach to music: I don't want to do what everybody else is doing."

That Metal Show host and comedian Jim Florentine recently conducted an in-depth interview with Taylor about the book, as well as his life and his music. Their conversation will soon be posted in three parts on Taylor's website, www.thecoreytaylor.com. The three parts of the interview will premiere on three Tuesdays: July 5, 12, and 19, each at 5 p.m. EST. In the meantime, fans can get an early taste with a short clip of the interview that has been posted on Taylor's website here: www.thecoreytaylor.com/videos.html

The Legend that is the Beach Boys, Live, at Epsom Downs Racecourse

The Beach Boys, that legendary American rock band, may have been formed fifty years ago, but their unique sound is recognised throughout the world by people of any age, from children to grandparents. There is no other group like it, and their many hit singles are so well-known that everyone knows the words. Although originating in the USA, with their legions of British fans, they are as much a part of the UK’s music culture as The Beatles.

They have had so many hit singles that it would take forever to list them all, but amongst the most well-known are ‘California Girls’, ‘I Get Around’, ‘Sloop John B’, and ‘Good Vibrations’. The fact that they still perform regularly today is proof that they still enjoy a huge following; the music scene without them would be hard to imagine.

Epsom Live! Music Nights, held at the world-famous Epsom Downs Racecourse, offer a truly unique experience when this year, on Thursday July 7th, the Beach Boys, singing and playing live, will give their only UK performance this year. It will be an event that will go down in history because it also celebrates the band’s fiftieth year together.

Epsom Downs Racecourse is a superb venue, and one that is synonymous with the very best of horseracing. Not far from London, with a view of the city’s exciting skyline, the conference and hospitality facilities offer the perfect place for any event, including weddings for which it has become the first choice for many prospective brides and grooms. It comes into its own, however, when staging music concerts, and the Beach Boys forthcoming one-night-only live event promises to be one of the events of the year.

Beach Boys tickets are sure to sell fast, so make sure you are not left disappointed!

This wonderful racecourse combines the very best of entertainment – what better day out could there be than a day at the races, followed by a live performance by one the best known bands in the world?
