Slipknot/Stone Sour singer Corey Taylor is preparing to release his first book, Seven Deadly Sins, on July 12 in the U.S. and July 14 in the U.K. The book is part memoir about Taylor's youth in Iowa and part candid manifesto reflecting on the subject and nature of sin. As Taylor's career as a singer began to take off and he delved into his hard partying ways, he started thinking about what it really meant to sin. The book encompasses Taylor's personal story, but it's also a larger discussion of what it means to be seen as either a "good" person or a "bad" one.
"I've been threatening to write a book for a long time, but since every Tom, Dick and Harry writes an autobiography, I didn't want to just do that," Taylor explained. "My approach to writing is the same as my approach to music: I don't want to do what everybody else is doing."
That Metal Show host and comedian Jim Florentine recently conducted an in-depth interview with Taylor about the book, as well as his life and his music. Their conversation will soon be posted in three parts on Taylor's website, www.thecoreytaylor.com. The three parts of the interview will premiere on three Tuesdays: July 5, 12, and 19, each at 5 p.m. EST. In the meantime, fans can get an early taste with a short clip of the interview that has been posted on Taylor's website here: www.thecoreytaylor.com/videos.html
